Three Limpopo Police Officers Arrested After 46 Undocumented Foreign Nationals Allegedly Disappeared While Being Transported To Polokwane Police Station
Three police officers attached to Polokwane International Airport in Limpopo have been arrested for allegedly defeating the administration of justice and contravening the Immigration Act. The arrests were made on Monday, 19 October 2026, by the Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit, assisted by the Polokwane Tactical Response Team, following an investigation into the alleged disappearance of undocumented foreign nationals.
The case dates back to 17 April 2025, when a traffic officer intercepted a 22-seater Mercedes-Benz minibus along the N1 near Polokwane, transporting 46 undocumented foreign nationals. The vehicle was escorted to the Polokwane N1 Weighbridge, where their immigration status was confirmed. Police officers from Polokwane International Airport were summoned to assist.
It is alleged that four male police officers and one female officer arrived and told the arresting traffic officer that arrangements had been made with the station commander to transport the 46 foreign nationals to Polokwane SAPS for further processing. However, when the station commander and traffic officer followed up, neither the officers nor the foreign nationals could be found. The matter was referred to the Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit.
Following the investigation, the Director of Public Prosecutions directed that all five implicated officers be charged. The three arrested suspects, two men and one woman aged between 44 and 49, are expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistratesβ Court on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. Efforts to locate the remaining two suspects are continuing. Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers welcomed the arrests and commended the investigators.

The trial of a 28-year-old man, accused of raping two nurses from Ga-Chuene Clinic and committing several other serious offences has been postponed to 22 October 2026 in the Polokwane High Court.

He allegedly took two Ga-Chuene Clinic nurses into nearby bushes, raped them before robbing them of their cellphones
The postponement was due to the unavailability of the defence counsel amid the ongoing strike at Legal Aid South Africa. The accused remains in custody. His identity is withheld to protect a minor complainant in one of the rape charges.

March and March Says Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and Xolani Zuma Could Be Arrested by Friday
The March and March Movement claims its leader, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, and her husband SA First Forum acting CEO Xolani Zuma could be arrested on or before Friday, 16 October 2026.
In a statement released today, Wednesday, 14 October, the movement alleged that the reported arrests were politically motivated and linked to its recent nationwide marches ahead of the 4 November local government elections.
The movement claimed that an executive committee of a political party had discussed whether the arrests should take place before or after the elections. It alleged that pressure following its countrywide demonstrations had led to demands for immediate action.
The movement accused President Cyril Ramaphosaβs administration of attempting to intimidate activists and called on him to publicly distance himself from what it described as political interference.
However, the existence of the alleged arrest warrants has not been independently confirmed.
The statement also criticised KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli and ANC leadership over the deployment of law enforcement officers against protesters. The movement maintained that it would continue its campaigns and urged supporters to march peacefully.
March and March reiterated its demands for stricter immigration enforcement, including the deportation of undocumented foreign nationals, expanded inland operations by the Border Management Authority and the declaration of illegal immigration as a national disaster.
It also called for legislation reserving township and informal trading opportunities for South African small businesses, as well as the deployment of the South African National Defence Force to tackle illegal mining syndicates.
The movement further urged South Africans to reject a recent Constitutional Court judgment concerning asylum law, arguing that government policy should prioritise citizens amid high unemployment and the rising cost of living.
The claims about the alleged arrest warrants and political interference remain allegations made by the movement.
