I just don’t agree that the movie revels in her death. She has an absolutely horrifying death and it is supposed to be absolutely horrifying. The reveal of her body in Bear’s home is also absolutely horrifying. The movie is not being smug or celebrating her death!
we are actually reaching the point where people have to be handheld through the simplest concepts of storytelling and that maybe the story being told on screen isn't actually indicative of how the storyteller feels and instead is just the natural path the story takes
A big part of why media literacy is so bad rn is because many people can’t imagine someone writing a character or scene that doesn’t exactly align with their personal beliefs. A woman’s corpse is not featured in the movie because the writer hates women.
