At the July 2026 federal hearing, Attorney James Tuxbury characterized Karen Read's lawsuit as "classic retaliation against witnesses."
But what exactly are we supposed to make of reports that roughly a dozen or so independent content creators have been served with subpoenas seeking extensive communications and records? What does that look like from the outside?
Are we, the public, really supposed to believe that issuing sweeping subpoenas to citizens covering these cases does not raise legitimate questions about the potential effect on public discourse surrounding the ongoing civil litigation?
To me, there is a significant distinction here. Karen Read is an acquitted defendant who has brought civil claims against police officers and witnesses based on allegations arising from the investigation and the events surrounding John O'Keefe's death. Whatever one thinks of those claims, those allegations are being litigated through the courts.
Independent content creators are not parties to that litigation. They are members of the public who have been documenting, analyzing, and discussing the publicly available record surrounding the investigation into John O'Keefe's death and the subsequent legal proceedings.
So when a rumored significant number of creators reportedly find themselves facing subpoenas demanding extensive communications and records, it is entirely reasonable to ask what purpose that serves and what practical effect it could have on independent coverage of these cases.
Because if the argument is that Karen Read's lawsuit amounts to "retaliation against witnesses," then the public is equally entitled to examine what this apparent wave of subpoenas looks like from the perspective of independent journalists, commentators, and content creators who are covering the litigation from outside the courtroom.
She looked right, only left hand on the wheel & foot on gas. Sitting like that, your reaction when hearing a father scream “stop! Stop!” Your head jerks up, moment of panic to get your right hand to wheel. You jerk the wheel left & hit gas. It happened. That’s why my son is dead
Has anyone else noticed that rock solid evidence that one would think would be a slam dunk suddenly disappears ...
1. Exculpatory Evidence in Karen's phone (location data) "disappeared" in April 2022 while in the custody of the Mass State Police, before they upgraded her charges from District to Superior Court.
2. Inculpatory evidence pointing to Matthew Farwell and others "disappeared" on August 24, 2024, 4 days before Matthew Farwell was indicted.
The @MassStatePolice seem to have critical evidence and records disappear in cases where police officers are involved. Why is that? @DOJCrimDiv@CivilRights there is a pattern in Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
Why haven't @MassGovernor or Andrea Campbell said one word about this?
The DOJ needs to step in as the Constitutional Rights of United States citizens are watching their constitutional rights being stripped from them in plain sight.
This was the scene directly outside Deputy Chief Tom Keleher's home on January 29th, 2022.
Canton Police wants you to believe that their highest ranking on-duty officer only supplied cups for John O'Keefe's blood collection and that his cameras caught nothing of significance.
Would a potential knock on his front door at 6:04AM by a witness be of importance? How about any fighting from earlier in the evening? Or vehicles coming and going from the scene? How about Lucky the plow driver's timing of his route? Bueller?
Can the defense start subpoenaing some of these motherfuckers starting with Kate Peter...I was never a fan of Lindsey Gaetani but I can't wait for her show cuz she knows where all the bodies are buried...I think we are going to find out that Don Jen and the McAlbert Mafia were doing everything they accuse Karen of and then some...EVERY...THING...THEN...SOME...
We know Kate has purged a lot of private data, but we also see how she is so desperate for a win and always bragging like she got one online...We also know she was "post boosting" to pay for views and I'll bet she wasn't paying for them..I am sure Jen was using a cutout to pay out but that apple probably didn't fall very far from the tree when it comes to her paymaster...
So I am very interested in what LG has to reveal about all the usual suspects - Morrissey, Tully, Mello, Cosgrove, and KP, herself...It would be with great irony that the actions of Jen and her merry band of McAlberts, who are using every trick in the book to trick a jury in the civil case, end up seeing their retribution against Aidan dissolve in his criminal case and even the civil ones...
I think Jen did the best she could do with the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap crew but you also get what you pay for and all it's done is to show us dirty, unclean hands...McAlberts are Murderers and Colin was in the House...LG/YT 1.21k (+100)...
@SouthBostonKev@auntiedebbb I keep trying to call and it is busy. You need to hire help and install extra lines. We are going to get enough snow to track a cat here in NC. I want to be cool like y’all in MA!
