Yes, I actually have narcolepsy (w/o cataplexy) and I'm happy to talk about it!
I'm in the new place. Still mostly going to be here, until everyone else is gone or we can no longer say, "I can't believe this site is free."
@narolepsy there, since they don't do underscores
Seems to me like the Maine Dem party has a little less than 3 weeks to do a fire house primary, which would be the right thing to do and potentially energizing
Reminder: there is no excuse for smearing survivors who come forward about sexual assault. It doesn’t make you righteous because you agree politically with the abuser.
Solidarity with Jenny Racicot. She has shown far more courage & compassion than any of the people using her story as an opportunity to promote their politics as usual.
@th3witn3zz@adamscochran Be grateful if you can't understand the experience of being raped by someone you previously had a consensual relationship. Denial and struggling with feelings of guilt are very common and confronting that is painful.
It’s okay to change your mind when presented new info.
I’ll do it. I’ll admit it. We all should when needed!
& given the nature of these allegations, the “we were right” reaction is weird + gross.
A horrific experience a woman had… Nobody should want to be right about that.
@JonathanCohn All of the candidates were ranked by a majority of Dems. 77% ranked Pingree (including 67% who ranked her top three), 70% Shah, 62% Jackson, 73% Bellows
More here, including head-to-head matchups

What’s great about RCV is that you can take the ME-GOV ballots, redistribute the votes from Hannah Pingree, and produce another candidate with a statewide majority from Democratic primary voters if you need to.
I can absolutely understand why she didn't come forward earlier. I can see the hypotheticals and qualifications she might have wrestled with in getting past the denial phase. And I hope she is with family and friends right now, phone off.
@rrla12164133@adamscochran We don't need a rapist. If we support rapists because it came out "too late" all that does is make other women less likely to come forward for fear it won't make a difference and they revisit their trauma/get called a liar for nothing.
People being glib/gleeful about this whole thing can go fuck themselves.
He should drop out immediately, but some people are treating this as a way to score points and it's disgusting.
