1. Just got off a call with @UnSubtleDesi. I couldn't be happier for her and both of us couldn't help but discuss the harrowing days of post poll violence in West Bengal in 2021. So I am going to share what happened five years ago just so ppl know what happened. #WestBengal2026.
Announcement: The next big civilisational fight
Supreme Court will soon hear over a dozen petitions seeking to strike down anti-forced conversions laws enacted by several states such as UP, Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP
After Age of Consent case, we - @sewanyaya and @RashtraJyoti - have taken a lead in this.
We are backing a spate of intervention petitions being filed in the matter in SC. One such was filed this week by Abhishek Khatik from MP
As a child, Abhishek was subjected to forced conversion to Christianity in a shelter home, until then child commission head @KanoongoPriyank intervened to rescue him
In collaboration with @NetworkforJus, we are helping several victims bring their voices before the apex court including a father whose daughter was killed for refusing nikah.
In 2022, when UP’s anti-conversion law was challenged in Allahabad High Court, @SanjeevSanskrit and I had jointly filed an intervention. That matter, along with similar petitions across states, will now be heard together by Supreme Court.
Massive work ahead. We have been deep into it for weeks.
Need your blessings. Updates soon.
Not only is this bullshit, but some of the narratives of this type are institutionalised propaganda. When the British found a few clans or tribes ungovernable, they would spread canards about them so that other Indian communities would excommunicate them. For example, a book of sociology introduced me to the Bishnois in the 1990s with a bizarre story, which I cross-checked with people having good knowledge of Haryana and Rajasthan. Nobody said the claim was true. The authoritative book on Indian sociology said Bishnois were a vindictive clan that would exact revenge from the enemy by getting their daughters married off in the enemy camp, with the instruction that they murder their husbands! I contacted the professor to find out where the story originated. He said it was in the annals of the British Raj.
It was the Criminal Tribes Act, a series of British colonial laws in India, beginning with the Act of 1871, which outlawed entire communities by labelling them as "hereditary criminals" and imposing blanket surveillance and restrictions on their movement. Based on the false idea that criminality was genetic, this draconian law targeted nomadic and semi-nomadic groups, forcing adult males to report to police and leading to stigmatisation and discrimination that continues even after the law's repeal in 1949.
The most ironic part: Some victims of this propaganda believe they are indeed what the British said they were!
One Ford Foundation beneficiary jumps to the defence of another! The amusing thing about the US deep state is that it makes its games obvious with its set pattern of propping up activists in different countries. The KGB was never brazen; the CIA is.
Dear Government of India,
@narendramodi@AmitShah@NITIAayog
Please correct this nomenclature:
The legal and administrative term "Other Backward Classes (OBC)" is grammatically flawed.
#SurajitEdits
"Backward people" would mean people moving in the rear direction (walking backwards, if you may). Write an article in an MS Word document or have Grammarly installed and activated on your device, and it will underline "Backward" when you write "Other Backward Classes." [Check the attached screenshot]
Wait a minute! If the caste system was a British creation, am I trying to teach the British their language, English? No, the Brits didn't call any set of Indians "backward". Between 1935 and 1947, the official name of what later became the Scheduled Castes was "Depressed Classes". The OBC status did not exist before 1990.
"Backward" is an adjective whereas "backwards" is an adverb:
A backward glance:
Move backwards:
A set of people cannot be backward. If you insist they are, it would mean that no matter what the government does for them, they keep regressing! A विपरीतगामी समूह! Funny, isn't it?
It's time our children became stronger, and our elders stopped being so touchy about what knowledge disturbs them. The history of the world is hardly non-violent. The kids learn of Ashoka's murderous campaigns up to Kalinga, Julius Caesar's assassination, and hundreds of wars throughout human civilisation. They know Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were assassinated. They have some idea of the Partition-era violence, too, but that is focused mainly on the Punjabi narrative. If these stories did not make them faint, the focus moving from Lahore-Amritsar to Calcutta-Noakhali will not "traumatise" them either.
Your comparison between the Holocaust and the Bengal Hindu genocide, @vivekagnihotri, is not just poignant but absolutely necessary in today's discourse. The stark differences you've highlighted—full acceptance versus large-scale denial, global condemnation versus victim demonisation, and a plethora of films versus none—expose a deep-seated bias in how history is remembered and taught. It's a powerful reminder that while the world rightly condemns the Nazi atrocities against Jews, the systematic violence against Bengal Hindus in 1946 has been conveniently sidelined, often euphemised as "exodus" or "migration" rather than the genocide it was. Kudos for using #TheBengalFiles to bring this uncomfortable truth to the forefront; your work is vital to rectifying this historical injustice.
What I find particularly intriguing is the elite's reception to your film—marked by surprise, shock, dismay, and outright rejection. Why the outrage when the violence perpetrated on Hindus during Direct Action Day is so well-documented in open, accessible sources like Wikipedia? The page on Direct Action Day (16 August 1946) details how the Muslim League's call for a general strike in Calcutta escalated into brutal communal riots, with targeted attacks on Hindu-majority areas such as Rajabazar, Kelabagan, College Street, Harrison Road, Colootola, and Burrabazar. Reports describe Muslim processions armed with iron bars and lathis turning violent post-rally, looting Hindu shops, and committing massacres like the one at Kesoram Cotton Mills in Lichubagan, where over 300 Oriya labourers (predominantly Hindus) were slaughtered. Casualty estimates range from 4,000 to 10,000 deaths overall, with contemporary accounts from figures like Frederick Burrows and later analyses by historians like Tanika Sarkar and Suranjan Das confirming the scale and the targeted nature of the assaults on Hindus.
This isn't hidden knowledge—it's cited from credible sources, including British reports, eyewitness testimonies, and scholarly works. So, why the feigned ignorance or dismissal? Are we witnessing an uneducated generation, one that's either unaware of these facts or selectively blind to them in favour of sanitised narratives? In an era of instant information, such reactions suggest a deeper issue: perhaps a reluctance to confront histories that challenge dominant ideologies or political conveniences. Your film isn't just cinema; it's an educational tool that forces us to reckon with these erased chapters, much like Schindler's List did for the Holocaust. Keep pushing boundaries—history demands it. #TheBengalFiles #DirectActionDay #BengalHinduGenocide

GST 2.0 and Modi’s diplomatic outreach form a twin strategy to blunt Trump’s tariffs while enhancing India’s global standing in a shifting North–South order, I say in this @CNNnews18 piece:

#Onam does not merely comprise feasts and flowers, unlike what secularists would have you believe, but a celebration of faith and culture. Onam weaves the ancient with the modern. Beginning with its origins, here's a thread🧵with wishes for all on the #KeralaFestival 1/n
It doesn't matter if #TheBengalFiles is banned in West Bengal. People from the rest of India will watch the film. And after three odd months, people from Bengal will watch it too — on an OTT platform. It doesn't matter if the film pleases some Bengalis while outraging most.
In fact, for many years, Wikipedia has had a detailed account of what happened in Calcutta (now Kolkata) on Direct Action Day. Anyone could/can read it whenever they want(ed); if they found the content objectionable, they could have edited it; they still can. I am a little surprised that those who are shocked to know the plot of The Bengal Files haven't read this history!
It looks like Bengalis are no longer the intellectual class they used to be. This, indeed, is the worst impact of Mamata Banerjee's rule. The slum dweller-turned-chief minister dragged down a community's classy level to her own crass level.
[One can imagine how painful writing the above must have been for a proud Bengali.]
The Democrats, while nursing their wounds, are looking for a new leader. Their supporters have started trolling Donald Trump, but there is no leader to steer the opposition's rampage. I guess, in about a year, they will find a face to bank on.
This is sad. Not only the United States but also the world at large needed to stop the batshit crazy wokery that the American society had unleashed under the Joe Biden administration. What they did not need was a mad guy to lead the change, who would undo even his own good acts of his first term. While the next presidential election is far away — and the virtual mid-term election that the US has is not likely to change the scenario, even if Trump gets a drubbing — it can be safely predicted that Democrats will return to power with a resounding victory in 2028-29. Republicans will suffer because of the Don Quixote they chose to come back to power.
Children will once again be brainwashed to believe one's sex is not biologically predetermined but a matter of one's whims and fancies.
I am not so concerned about the implications for geopolitics because Democrats are no friends of India either, and they are war-mongers indeed. From the Vietnam War to the Russia-Ukraine War, they have always funded the battles more than the Republicans. While the trade war against China escalated under Trump 1.0, who also instituted an inquiry into the alleged penetration of Chinese moles in US institutions, Biden took bolder steps to contain the Middle Kingdom, even as he stopped the investigation initiated by Trump. But Quad has always been a non-starter. Japan and Australia, the second more than the first, have always been wary of provoking China by turning the association into a military grouping. Remember how Beijing browbeat Canberra during the Covid pandemic? Australia dared to bark once, and then it was back to whimpering when China growled.
Meanwhile, BRICS, with or without Trump at the helm in the US, cannot, in the foreseeable future, replace the dollar in international trade. At best, they can substitute it for bilateral transactions with the respective currencies of the pair of BRICS members concerned.
I repeat, my concern is the moulding of impressionable minds, which will resume with vengeance. Keep the aberration of Trump aside, and the world has not been different either with a Democrat or a Republican ruler of the United States. I am not concerned with repercussions in American domestic politics either. How does it matter to me if Mexicans and Muslims start entering the US as easily as Arabs, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis enter western Europe? Let the US get fucked for all I care. I am worried about the bipartisan American potential to influence how people the world over think.

EC has now started removing such bogus entries from the voter list.
So this is why Rahul Gandhi is upset with SIR?
How Missionaries groom Hindus?
1. Tell Hindus they are sinners.
2. Tell them Prabhu Yeshu Masih is Parmeshwar ka putra who came to earth to end their problems.
3. Tell Hindus that Yeshu sacrificed his life for their sins.
4. Prabhu Yeshu never asks for conversion and is accepting. All are welcomed.
5. Only visiting a prayer meeting can take away their problems.
He is Virender Ahirwar, who goes by the same name but has attended prayer meetings like this for the past eight years.
In many places, the Ahirwar caste falls under the Scheduled Caste category, but in Madhya Pradesh, it is also classified as OBC.
So, Virender Ahirwar, being a Hindu by birth, has become a Masihi Bhai for the past eight years now.
I am sure he must have been baptized as well. His wife wears no bindi, sindoor, or anything to look like a married woman.
I have met people who have been Christians for years and then reverted to the Sanatan fold. They tell me how every symbol of Hindu identity is slowly stripped away by the missionaries, from temple visits to bindi, nothing remains.
Case from Sehore, MP: House Church of Jabbar Khan and family. All booked.
Shocking! 🚨
