Mental health should be treated with the same seriousness, and urgency as physical health.
In Westminster Hall, I responded to @LizTwistMP important debate on parity of esteem between mental and physical health, setting out how this Government is expanding Mental Health Support.
After years of campaigning, a new banking hub is coming to 93a High Street, Harborne. Residents will be able to withdraw and deposit cash, pay bills and access everyday banking services.
I look forward to seeing it open soon.
Thank you to Cash access UK for working with me.
Great news- @RachelReevesMP our Chancellor has announced that 5-15 year olds in England will receive free bus travel this summer.
Good for family budgets. 👇🏽
I spoke to GB News about the Westminster obsession with a single appointment.
People across the country want a government that gets on with the job, cutting the cost of living, strengthening public services, and delivering real change.
We won’t be distracted. 👇🏽
I am appalled by the horrific stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green.
Antisemitism has no place in our society. I stand in full solidarity with the UK’s Jewish community, including here in Birmingham Edgbaston.
My thoughts are with the victims and their families.🙏
NEW 🚨
✅ Ending the selling-off of new council homes
✅ Built for local people, kept for local people
✅ No more private investors cashing in on public housing
Actions, not words.
Power belongs in your hands, not just in Westminster.
Today, the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill finally passes into law, featuring a landmark Community Right to Buy.
This is massive win for community power and for the co-operative movement. 🐝
Great candidates and teams out across the Edgbaston constituency today.
Thanks to @TanDhesi and @RichParkerLab for joining us. Lots of positive conversations. #VoteLabour 🌹
Government borrowing - the difference between spending and income from taxes - has fallen to the lowest number in three years. Treasury officials said it showed that Chancellor Rachel Reeves' plan is working.
But economists have warned that the good news is likely temporary - if the economic fallout from the Middle East war continues and inflation picks up, the cost of borrowing will increase again.
The workers making British music festivals great should be the ones who own them.
A UK festival just became employee-owned for the first time in history.
We’re calling on the government to make this the standard, not the exception, for the creative industries.
Great to be out across constituency knocking doors with our fantastic local Labour candidates, @RichParkerLab@BrumLeader and members, working hard for our community.
Really positive conversations on the doorstep. Let’s keep delivering for our area -vote Labour on 7 May. 🌹
