Stage 2 testing is officially underway at NASA Stennis 🚀

The campaign kicked off with successful cryoproof, loading the stage with cryogenic fluids and pressurizing it beyond expected flight loads to validate its structural integrity, followed by COPV manifold proof testing to verify the high-pressure system that will pressurize propellants during flight.

These tests also marked the activation of A2, bringing together the infrastructure, flight hardware, ground and vehicle software, and the integrated team of test, launch, and vehicle engineers.

Next up: hot fire capable assembly work, then back to the stand ahead of stage hot fire testing. 🔥

Rocket Lab Neutron AIC update

The Hungry Hippo fairing is out for some fresh air. It has been moved to the back of the AIC, right where the old Stage 2 static fire test stand used to sit. Looks like they got it out of the Building 01 integration building and backed it over there without much trouble, using that trailer moving equipment spotted a few nights ago.

Right now it is sitting on red support stands on the blue transport trailer, waiting for its lift. Based on the setup, it looks like they are getting ready to stand the fairing up vertical, which would line up with the speculation from a few days ago.
