@TMarcoola@Urban_Immerser@katyperry@AFL I understand there is a social investment in the AFLW which is hard to put a dollar value on, but I don't think you can just demand more investment from everyone when they're already facing losses of $50M annually. That's a lot of money to dismiss.
@TMarcoola@Urban_Immerser@katyperry@AFL The difference being that the men didn't start getting paid until many years after the game started making money. And it was many decades before they were paid any more than a token amount to cover their transport and equipment costs.
@TMarcoola@Urban_Immerser@katyperry@AFL Total revenue from AFLW membership is $3,750,000. Around 10% of the salary cost and 6% of the total cost of the season.
I'm comparison, the total player salary costs for AFL is 270,000,000, and membership revenue alone is over double that.
@TMarcoola@Urban_Immerser@katyperry@AFL The AFLW player salaries add up to over $32 Million annually. The expected total cost of this year's AFLW is $57 Million.
@JoeScuderi1 100%. The batter is literally breaking the rules to gain advantage. How often it would happen where a batter just beats a run out by a couple of centimetres simply because they've left the crease early. How is that fair?
@PAFCMemories It's weird. I struggle to recall what I did yesterday, but I remember this game as if it was last week. All my mates at school were Bays supporters so I always remember the times we flogged them.
