NO! I don't spend my time thing about race at all. I think about health, family, and getting from day to day. I think about groceries and the expense. I think about medicine too.

I've been living in an apartment in a senior independent living building. The population in this 17-floor building is 99% black. I'm white if you didn't notice.

When I interviewed with the building manager, I told her I just HAD to live here! I'm in heaven! You see my grandmother lived close to here, and her neighborhood was 100% black. She and my grandfather were the only whites. I spent three days a week with. As kids, we didn't notice color while we were playing with the neighborhood kids. And the black kids were the same. Not seeing color. We were just plain old friends. My grandmother died in '82.

So living here gives me the "warm and fuzzies". I'm home!
