Sigh of relief. Last of the GCSE papers collected today! 🙌💃🏻 Well done to our Year 11s that turned up for all their GCSE exams after two very challenging years. You’ve done us proud already! @OATLatimer
The good news:
#Saudi blogger #RaifBadawi was released from prison last Friday after 10 years behind bars
The bad news:
@raif_badawi is on a travel ban and has to pay a high fine of $250,000
Until it is paid, he can’t go to Canada to be with his family
Another successful remote Year 11 Parents Evening! Well done to the OLA staff team and OLA parent/carers for making this happen. 💃🏻🕺
Now it’s about what our learners will do to get those grades they want and CAN get!
My first ever Virtual Year 11 Parents Evening on Teams!!!!! Well done to the Latimer team for making this happen. Mock exams ✅ Reports ✅ Update on possible assessment ✅ Supportive and caring staff✅ Specific advice ✅ @headLatimerAP @TBAP_Principal @seamusoates
And the gamble has not paid off. We're just indulging in a national stick our head in the sand game cos it's easier. Not easier for NHS & social care staff though. Or the people whose operations are cancelled. Or those waiting for hours for an ambulance and then in an ambulance.
Exactly the same experience at @RoyalLondonHosp. Nearly every patient on the wards unvaccinated, every patient I’ve referred to ITU unvaccinated. We’re not here to judge (my day job is lung cancer) but please help us to help you please #GetVaccinatedNow

‘Tis the season to be jolly and think of giving, especially to others less fortunate. It’s that time of year again - OLA learners making little sweets and treats parcels for the community! @OATLatimer @SeamusOates
Black History Month activities continue at Ormiston Latimer. First an African Drumming workshop with Albinou (Dia) Gomis, followed by a trip to review Black History at the National Museum #OATLondon
There's been lots of coverage of the risk of heart inflammation in teens after the vax.
Firstly, risk is tiny (~40 cases per million doses)
Secondly, it is almost always mild & resolves quickly
Thirdly, risk of heart inflammation from Covid is much much higher than from vax 1/2
@headLatimerAP So proud of the hard work the learners and staff put in during challenging and sad times.
Well done Year 11s 2021! We’re all still here I support you with your onward journey!! X
