Polish lawyer Raphael Lemkin coined the term "genocide" in 1943, initiating the Genocide Convention in 1948. The Lemkin Institute warned about the so-called "Gender Critical" movement in November. Things have accelerated since then.

Government could have enforced curbs on energy prices, on food, paid up to keep Council Tax low, kept fares in check and soon, broadband and mobile charges. It is their policy choice to allow profiteering.

Rest in peace, Brianna Ghey 🤍
Brianna deserved a chance to become a beautiful adult woman, and to live to see a world where trans people are safe and respected.
Anyone in the media who is using her deadname and erasing Brianna’s identity should be ashamed of themselves.
We will be meeting in Sackville Gardens on Wednesday to come together as a community to mourn Brianna Ghey's death. We hope you will join us in marking her passing and showing respect for her tragically short life.
Up early supporting #TeacherStrike and all of the brave people taking a stand today. #strike action isn't easy. But every single person is fighting for the greater good. United we stand.
You were all key workers in the pandemic and you're still a key worker now!
@c_kennaugh@daliagebrial For my part, I know trans people from all walks of life, and I'm mostly personally acquainted with working class ones, probably because I am working class.
As for race, I don't think there's any particular bias and I sure know a lot of black (and other non-white) trans women.
@c_kennaugh@daliagebrial Wow, you clearly don't know many trans people, do you? Or did you maybe just think the sample that you encountered was representative, without wondering what bias was in the selection?
@Legallycam225 @hiragey @daliagebrial Calling women "females" was popularised by white racists dehumanising black women.

@hmtreasury@Jeremy_Hunt Did you forget the cups for corporate profiteering and government corruption?
And yes, the economic sanctions you chose for us, in campaigning to leave our large neighbourly trading block?
@hiragey @daliagebrial It's not perfect, of course. There will be people who don't "get" the disprivileges of others. Who fall for bigoted rhetoric, whataboutery and so forth. But someone who experiences bigotry is more likely to recognise the plights of others experiencing bigotry, and stand together.
@hiragey @daliagebrial Any feminism worth anything is intersectional. If you exist on at least one major axis of disprivilege, you're more likely to be aware of that, and your feminism will be intersectional as a base standard.
Tonight the Conservatives are attacking the devolved power of the Scottish Parliament and Trans people by preventing the Scottish Gender Recognition Act from becoming law.
So desperate to find wage culture wars they’re willing to imperil our constitution and attack minorities.
And if the Government was serious about accountability for failures to deliver basic services, it would be stripping failing rail operators & water monopolies of contracts, kicking outsourcing companies out of our NHS, and of course, calling a General Election! 13/13
On the same day they are legislating to effectively ban key workers from going on strike, the Tories have announced Minority Report plans to shut down protests before they even start.
Our democratic rights are not safe under this Government.

@someotherfella1@HackneyAbbott Better yet, #StarmerOut and let's have @HackneyAbbot, or @zarahsultana, or someone else like them who's not just a Tory in a red tie like Starmer.
Criticising Starmer isn't what costs Labour popularity with left-wing voters. Starmer being a Tory by policy stances does that.
“This law is an attack on our democratic and civil rights.”
@ZarahSultana calls for protest to defend the #RightToStrike 👊
Join the demo at 6pm, Monday, opposite Downing St.

Why are we subsidising food, energy bills, rent etc for MPs earning £84+k? Who then go onto have 2nd or 3rd jobs, but we can’t subsidise kids from the lowest income families free school meals? Shouldn’t our money go to those in need… not those for greed?
@DarthBeavis_ Quite impressive of them to bungle the age-ranges for generations so badly that it distracts from the content, but hey, engagement.
I wonder if intentional, per "if you want engagement, don't ask a question; make a mistake and everyone will rush to correct you" (Godwin's Law)
