Two Anastasiyas who have worked extremely hard towards the success of the 1st edition of the @wr_chess 2023. Anastasiya Karlovich and Anastasia Sorokina are event managers and have been instrumental in putting together and event that the chess world can be proud of!
31 years ago, Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians joined hands in the Baltic way - a peaceful demonstration that showed our resolve to fight for #Independence. This year we will mark this date by joining hands all the way from Vilnius to #Belarus in support of our neighbours.
With Sorokina, #Belarus rapidly became one of the most active #chess federations in the world. In the last 2 years, BCF organized two World Cadet Championships, developed Chess in Schools program. #WorldCup 2021 & #ChessOlympiad 2022 will be held in the country's capital Minsk.
FIDE Vice President Anastasia Sorokina was re-elected as Belarus Chess Federation President for the second 4-year term. Congratulations!
The decision was made at the BCF Conference by 24 delegates from the regions of Belarus on June 1.

The Chief Arbiter of women's supertournament #CairnsCup Carol Jarecki is a super woman and our role model! She is only 84 years old, she used to be an arbiter in major chess events… https://t.co/49JVu8oXWy
Having a bit of fun with the splendid team of arbiters at #londonchessclassic - David Sedgwick, @NastukChess and @iachess64 - “speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil” (please don’t take this too literally, tweeps - they do a great job)
Anastasia Sorokina (@NastukChess), President of the Belarus Chess Federation, will be responsible for the Olympiad in Minsk 2022.

In Minsk for the FIDE World Cadet Blitz & Rapid Championships (categories U8, U10, U12). A new event in the FIDE calendar since last June and successfully organised by Belarus two years in a row. Good work by the Government of #Belarus and @NastukChess promoting youth chess!
