Our new paper led by Mattia Mancini explores the trade-offs in the UK's #BiodiversityNetGain policy, and shows how current implementation compares, on multiple dimensions, to options which maximise either biodiversity gain or access for people https://t.co/ySeIvu1J84
Brilliant to work with @NatDuffus on this important paper. The culmination of several years' work examining how the BNG Metric lines up with primary invertebrate field data @oxmartinschool@NatureRecovery. 1/2

While area-condition metrics are an incredibly helpful tool for decision making, accompanying data remains essential. Without it, we risk not fully understanding our biodiversity impacts! 6/6
Where are all the butterflies?
Years of habitat destruction, climate breakdown and pesticide use have taken their toll. If we're to restore nature and save our butterflies and moths we must act now.
