The overridning questions is surely: What do these rich men want from the Tory Govt in return for all that money?

@andreajenkyns Surely the greatest deterrent to criminals is fear of being caught. Andrea Jenkyns' Tory party cut police officers by 21,000 and police support roles by 23,000. In the 2019 election Johnson pledged to recruit 20,000 officers, but that's still not enough to repair the damage
@JacquiWilkie2 @Mylastrollo You'll put ideas into Tory heads. We've already seen the Tories being hostile to spending on extra school meals to help poverty-struck children. They hate spending on anything that helps ordinary people, and aren't slates and chalk more "ecologically correct" than laptops?
@AmandaL54343063 @Mylastrollo @DominicRaab I fear your reference to Anglo-Saxon may signal you are a closet English Nationalist. Surely the people of Britain should use the island's true original languages of Welsh or Scottish Gaelic? As for Anglo-Saxon, how many Londoners these days know Neasden means "nose-shaped hill"?
@Mylastrollo I come from a generation that learnt Latin before the education "modernisers" got rid of it. I find basic Latin useful for better understanding of some English words and scientific terms, and also for an insight into common elements in the modern European languages I now use

@trussliz Typical of Truss! She tries claiming 20p off a bottle of Jacob's Creek red should set the nation celebrating, when in truth ALL wine imports are going to be cheaper because the wine trade has pressured the UK Govt into scrapping a piece of Brexit red tape

Little time for those at @BBCNews@BBCScotlandNews types and their outrage over drug deaths given how they give Tories a free pass over 150k Covid deaths, and hide Johnsons daily figures under “UK”.
The Express is so wrong in today’s headline it begins to raise questions. Of course the EU want our tourists and our spending - when it’s safe. Why is a British newspaper so slavishly following Chinese and Russian foreign policy interests, dividing us from allies and friends?
Documents released during a High Court case show the Govt used us taxpayers'money for polling by private firm Hanbury Strategy to measure how credible Tory spokespeople looked against key opposition figures -- including Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan.
