When I was Muslim, I never noticed what the Quran DOESN'T have.
Namely, exact dates, exact places or exact titles or names you can check.
Bro, when you read the Quran’s stories there is literally zero chronology, almost no geography, kings called only “Pharaoh,” events floating in no particular year. It is incredibly vague.
You cannot get answers to questions like: Where did the story happen? When? Under whom? The text doesn’t say. You can’t check it, which conveniently means you can’t check it.
Now, contrast that to the Bible, read the opening of Luke 3:
“In the FIFTEENTH YEAR of the reign of TIBERIUS CAESAR — PONTIUS PILATE being governor of JUDEA, HEROD being tetrarch of GALILEE, his brother PHILIP tetrarch of ITUREA and TRACHONITIS, and LYSANIAS tetrarch of ABILENE, during the high priesthood of ANNAS and CAIAPHAS…”
SEVEN historical anchors in one sentence.
An emperor, a governor, three rulers with their exact territories, two high priests.
And people HAVE checked — for centuries, often trying to break it. Skeptics mocked Luke’s “Lysanias of Abilene” as an error…
UNTIL an inscription naming Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene turned up.
Pilate was called legend by some… until the Pilate Stone was dug up at Caesarea in 1961 with his name and title carved in it.
Luke 1:3-4 tells you why: “Having followed all things closely… that you may have CERTAINTY.”
Certainty. That’s the offer of the Bible.
The Quran floats above history where nothing can touch it.
The Bible planted its flag in checkable ground and said: dig.
I dug. It’s still standing.
Praise the Lord and His mighty God-Breathed scripture.
Me: “I’m not good enough.”
Jesus: “I know.”
Me: “I can’t stop sinning sometimes.”
Jesus: “I know.”
Me: “I’ve failed You more times than I can count.”
Jesus: “I know.”
Me: “I don’t deserve Your love.”
Jesus: “You’re right.”
Me: “Then why would You save me?”
Jesus: “Because I came to save sinners.”
THAT is the good news of the gospel.
Jesus didn’t come for people who had their lives together. He came to save sinners who could never save themselves.
You don’t earn His love by becoming good enough. You don’t pay Him back by becoming perfect. You don’t make yourself righteous through your own efforts.
Christ lived the perfect life you could never live. He died the death your sins deserved. He paid the debt you could never repay. And He rose again, conquering sin and death.
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
We were guilty. He was innocent.
We were unrighteous. He was perfectly righteous.
We owed the debt. He paid it.
And through faith in Him, we are justified—not because of our righteousness, but because of His.
This doesn’t mean sin no longer matters. It doesn’t mean we make peace with our sin or use grace as an excuse to keep rebelling against God.
It means our hope is not in our ability to be perfect. Our hope is in the One who already was perfect on our behalf.
@cedwardsmedia@Alph4betSoup If you compare the answers to what ChatGPT says, it’s obvious which is more truthful and factually based. Both are a ton better than Gemini and don’t even mention the one from Microsoft
@cedwardsmedia@Alph4betSoup Irony of a statement there given that arificial “intelligence” can’t even tell me the correct answer half the time. Set aside the fact that God is probably instead laughing at some of our uses of AI tools.
@cedwardsmedia@realannapaulina Conclusion is a logical fallacy. It’s a fallacy because it ignores all other possible factors based on a bias. Although understandable, but sadly your first statement is very factual.
@cedwardsmedia@igor_os777 Ha! Everyone said that Vista was aweful back then. The only people who didn’t listen, was the marketing team. 7 and 10 did get better until 11 ruined it again.
If I'm filled with myself, almost anything can irritate me.
When I'm filled with Jesus, almost nothing can irritate me.
