The Government has not put in place adjustments to their national policy on FSM entitlement for children at home on medical leave. This lack of FSM provision risks discriminating against those with a disability.

The wine on the wall.
The vomit.
The fight.
The early morning exits.
All good colour from Sue Gray.
But the most damning parts of the report is that they knew that what they were doing was wrong.
Dodging cameras, leaving by back doors, changing invites.
THEY KNEW
@munirawilson Families with disabled children already spend £600 extra on energy than average households, and that's BEFORE bills soar in April. As my MP, will you call on @RishiSunak to help in the Spring Statement? #OutOfEnergy@contactfamilies https://t.co/7X1HDQz4wy
Quite moving individual gestures by Poles towards Ukrainian refugees as they come over the border. Near me a 60 something man with a carrier bag of chocolate bars handing them to families with small children
Putin puts his nuclear deterrent forces on high alert. This is the kind of moment we’ve feared almost my entire life. And why is he doing it? Because his wholly unnecessary invasion of Ukraine doesn’t seem to be going to plan.
Many video pictures of captured Russian soldiers show frightened teenagers saying they thought they were on exercises. Some could be under 18 and therefore children. War is exploitation of the young by old men.
It is not fair that families of children with a disability are not eligible to receive free school meal entitlement they would get if their children were able to attend school. Currently the Government has not put in place adjustments to their national policy on FSM entitlement.
A national policy is needed that ensures disabled children, on long term medically authorised absence from school, receive free school meals (FSM) as vouchers. This should ensure disabled children are not at a further substantial disadvantage compared to their peers.
@elftok@GoodLawProject@EdwardJDavey@contactfamilies@CitizensAdvice This is because a mainstream school can say that they are not obliged to provide free school meals for a child with a disability who is unable to attend school, due to the fact that there is no government legislation or policy to support this.
Please can anyone help: looking for a human rights lawyer to take the gov to court for not having a national policy to allow disabled children /medically authorised absence to receive free school meals? @GoodLawProject@elftok@EdwardJDavey@contactfamilies@CitizensAdvice
@elftok@GoodLawProject@EdwardJDavey@contactfamilies@CitizensAdvice This is direct discrimination because the child’s non disabled peers receive their entitlement whilst at school. Very few schools issue FSM vouchers to disabled children unable to attend school which creates substantial disadvantage
@elftok@GoodLawProject@EdwardJDavey@contactfamilies@CitizensAdvice@elftok thank you for your request: when a parent carer leaves work to take care of a child at home on medically authorised leave from school they often become eligible for Free School Meals for their child. However, they usually cannot receive this entitlement for their child…
The public know councils and the NHS should be providing short breaks. But too many disabled children and families are not getting the breaks they are legally entitled to. Disabled children's care is being underfunded by £573 mill.
