A page ranking #1 on Google has roughly a 47% chance of being cited in an AI answer.
Rank #10 and that drops to about 19%.
Same site. Same content. The only thing that changed is how easy the page was to reach.
Brie Moreau's analysis of over 2 million AI citations across 177 million sources found something else worth sitting with: comparison pages and roundups took 32.5% of all citations on their own. Not the deepest page on the topic. The most connected one.
So AI answers are not really judging which page is best. They are reaching for what was already reachable.
That is the uncomfortable version, and it is also the useful one, because reachable is something you can change.

Getting cited in AI answers looks like a lottery.
Until you notice the same sites keep winning it, across AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity alike.
Your site already has a score that predicts this. Most founders never see theirs.

I wanted to enjoy growing the domain authority of my projects, so i've built a tool that let me:
- keep all my projects in 1 place (no more spreadsheets )
- see opportunities (1k for now but its growing)
- see placement examples and my own placements so no opportunity gets lost + tiny confetti to help me keep going with such boring process

17 years I've built my tiny things that never went live (with few exceptions)!
But guys, your stories so addictive so i decided to try and build-in-public ๐
Meet LaunchRanks!
As i already mentioned, I built web apps but never marketed it. Why? Simply because Im SE and really love coding itself, but always felt sad that all my toys (pet projects) were locked on my localhost and eventually were covered by dust.
Every time when it comes to domain authority growth or content writing, my brain made a hard turn into a building new cool feature to avoid uncomfortable and boring process. Soooo
I decided to trick it and make it fun.
No more Google spreadsheets mess!
- Create your project in 1 click,
- See your DR growth
- See opportunities!
1000+ and growing curated list of platforms to go and grow your own web app authority. No need to think or dig or do competitors investigation.
