@CadeRichter@FrostyMog You seem to think it's "just a game."
I don't. I see it as a competitive sport.
That's probably why we can't agree here—we're approaching this from completely different perspectives. sigh
@CadeRichter@FrostyMog A race leaderboard should reflect the teams that actually chose to participate in that race. If participation doesn't matter, then what was the point of recruiting teams for the event at all?
@CadeRichter@FrostyMog Imagine holding a natural bodybuilding competition and then placing a non-competitor on top of the standings because they happened to post a better result elsewhere. Whether they take the prize money or not is irrelevant. They weren't part of the competition to begin with.
@CadeRichter@FrostyMog Do people really think we're upset because someone else got World First?
That's not the issue.
The issue is that you put a team that never entered the competition at the top of the competition leaderboard.
@FrostyMog That's a ridiculous argument.
Streaming a World Race means accepting a huge handicap. You're exposing your strategies, mistakes, and progress to everyone watching. Teams that stream are willingly taking that disadvantage to support the race.
@FrostyMog streaming everything openly, and committing to the event in good faith, how do you think they felt when their first-place position was taken away by a team that wasn't even a competitor?
@FrostyMog And think about Poikos. They lost the top spot on the leaderboard to a team that wasn't even on the leaderboard and wasn't even participating in the race. After sacrificing sleep,
@FrostyMog If this is how the event is going to be run, don't be surprised when teams stop participating. Why would anyone stream and expose their progress when they can simply clear in private, submit a video afterward, and effectively steal the World First recognition?
@FrostyMog Meanwhile, other teams can stay hidden, watch those streams, conserve their energy, and then take the World First spotlight at the end. To me, that doesn't feel like competition—it feels like theft.
@MogTalkTweets@shumai_xiv If a team that never entered the race can be ranked above the participants, then what was the point of the event?
Poikos sacrificed sleep, streamed their prog openly, and committed to your race. Your decision only makes them look like suckers for doing things the right way.
