Hey, my favorite banh mi place is apparently one of the 9 best sandwiches in the world. Of course, you're not a true Khanh Hoahead unless you started going when all the sandwiches were made by a single old lady in a beanie (new owners are great too though) https://t.co/l5XvSNBig6
@kiwitalkz I think people vastly exaggerate this. All games, including one as big as GTA VI, have a specific audience. Nintendo fans with a Switch 2 are not the GTA VI audience. They're still going to buy an OOT remake. No need for Nintendo to move out of the way by more than, like, a week.
@Ish_TheGoat He's actually improving too. Maybe slowed down a bit, but improved his look, talking, and seems to be carrying more aura now. Feels like a guy who really belongs near the top of the card now, whereas I felt he was sometimes a bit overpushed earlier in his AEW run.
@Noahgilberto19 ...Darby beats MJF at DoN, but then they do an injury angle and strip him. Tourny for the title match at All In, with Kenny and Ospreay in finals. Neither go into the big show as champ.
Darby -> Stripped -> Ospreay long title reign -> Okada -> Takeshita -> Fletcher
@Noahgilberto19 Kenny crushing Darby's dreams would be weird. Maybe MJF gets it back at DoN, but that would be an awful lot of title switching if they also want to maybe get back to Kenny/Ospreay at All In. My thoughts -- Darby keeps talking about going until the wheels fall of, so...
@snowboiiii Giving him some tough love isn't going to make him start wrestling like The Miz. It will make him quit and so he can go ride a scooter over the Grand Canyon or something and you've achieved nothing except remove something exciting from your television show.
@snowboiiii Also, like... he's not going to stop. If you tell him "You're not allowed to do that bump" he'll just go jump off something with a skateboard. This is just what he does, and you have to decide if you want to be in the business of putting on TV. AEW has decided they want to be.
@HeyTerezi The level of talent in AEW just increased. A Sammy Guevara doesn't cut it as one of your top flashy high-flying workers when there's a Will Ospreay on the roster. He needed to find another gear/level and never really did.
@akamaxpower They can still go and the tag division is badly depleted. Also, it's always felt like an oversight that they haven't been in AEW given how much the contributed to the modern tag style they wrestle there. Yes, young guys are good, but we don't need to be dogmatic about it.
@Noahgilberto19 It's so weird that she got slotted into the "little buddy for Asuka and/or Iyo" spot and they just *never* took a second to rethink it, even though really she's every bit as good as either of them.
@AllEliteChief Hot take -- battle royales are the one type of match AEW just doesn't do well for whatever reason, and the Royal Rumble itself has kind of sucked for a decade-plus anyways, so I'm fine with no Royal Rumble equivalent in AEW.
@Sinneswandel3 With AEW I think it's largely been an issue of visas/getting them commit to moving to the US full time. The one joshi wrestler who did that (Shida) is a beloved 3-time World Champion.
@punkinomenon Like, let's be clear, she legitimately almost killed herself here. She goes straight down on her head, her neck bends the wrong fucking way, and she then rebound like three feet off the ground *off her fucking neck*.
@punkinomenon Yeah... I'm not a tut-tutter about dangerous moves, I watch AEW/NJPW and dudes getting suplexed on their beans, but this is like the third viral clip of Iyo almost killing herself on these dives. She can keep doing sick stuff, but something needs to change re: this specific move.
@KMotaung68639@AIRGold_ Most of the guys who have been "fumbled" by AEW or WWE are just guys who were in the wrong company. Like, I don't think WWE "fumbled" Ricochet either. The two companies just value different things.
@space_canti The newer consoles (especially Switch) prioritized the UI actually running smoothly instead of a bunch of flashy yet ultimately pointless cosmetic stuff.
@RySchramm I'm not particularly nostalgic for the era when the most talented people in the business were barely making poverty wages and I couldn't even see them wrestle most of the time without going to Japan or a high school gym in Peoria, but okay.
@RySchramm The Bucks, Omega, etc. etc. just floating around or having to travel to Japan to make a bit of money was an unnatural state of affairs and the symptom of an unhealthy business.
@RySchramm As long as there are people passionate about this wacky business, indies will continue to exist. But again, the 2000s where this was this unnatural large population of talented indie wrestlers who essentially couldn't get employed because WWE only hired Ortons isn't coming back.
