Helping you build a fantasy football dynasty through better decisions, not hotter takes - Trades, Team Building, and Market Trends - DM for a roster review
Dynasty trade markers are heating up, and one of the big reasons is teams are starting to feel the pressure of injuries and slow starts.
Be careful when you are making a trade when your team is in a tough situation. It is easy to ignore red flags and stray from your process when you are facing an 0-3 or 1-2 start and those injuries are piling up.
A rough start is not a reason to accept a trade you wouldn’t normally make.
On the flip side, if your team is 3-0 and smooth sailing. This is the time to see if you can take advantage of someone else’s panic.
@Dog_FF@PlayForKeepsFF Josh Downs profile on Fantasy Points data suite. #1 in the league in separation, #12 in win rate, and #28 in routes per game. Pierce IR is encouraging that usage should continue or grow. I will gladly take it for a 2nd (hopefully late) and 3rd.
Concern level with Loveland is rising especially if Caleb is out for an extended period of time. Can’t panic yet especially on a talented player.
As a rebuilder, this is the kind of situation to test panic level of your league mate and see if you can get a discount.
100% that’s what’s makes dynasty great. If we all agreed it would be a boring game.
In a startup, I’m also avoidant of first round RB. My trade in our league backs that up selling Bijan. Also would never trade 3 1sts haha.
Where I have Gibbs and have a strong team though, I’m more than happy to ride it out and don’t see him as overvalued. I’m winning weeks because of his production.
Good luck in our matchup this week 🫡
I think we both are haha
I’m not taking Gibbs over Allen or Maye, but beyond that I’m not confident that any player is actually better than Gibbs in dynasty.
If I’m a rebuilder, I’m doing everything I can to get max value for Gibbs for the reasons you listed.
If I’m a contender, I’ll take my chances with Gibbs. Gibbs’ value is extremely high but, I just disagree he’s an overvalued asset. My strategy is that value always matters but so does team context.
He is scoring at the same level as elite QBs. Yes RBs don’t have the same long term insulation value, but it’s easier to get replacement level QBs than it is to get RBs that score like Gibbs. That matters for winning matchups. It’s unusual for a RB to be priced liked Gibbs, but that doesn’t mean he’s an automatic sell. I just think it’s oversimplifying to say if an RB is priced high you should sell. Gibbs production is a matchup winner most weeks. It’s okay to take the wins sometimes and not always rely on long term trade value for a roster decision.
