@stoolpresidente Show the whole video of each catch and tackle, not just misleading still frames. Cooks NEVER had control of the ball which is clear in the real time speed video. Adams had control since he completed the catch process based on the NFL’s rules defining a catch, lost the ball AFTER the catch process was completed, but his knee was down.

Again, you are proving you are misinformed about the Texas Stand Your Ground Law and the facts from the official police report. The official police report never said Karmelo was confronted by both Austin and his brother, it only says Austin shoved Karmelo. Secondly, there is no such term in the law as “reasonable fear.” Under the Texas Stand Your Ground Law:
1). Karmelo had to have a reasonable belief that the use of force was necessary, AND 2). Karmelo was required under the law to use only the force that is proportionate to the threat.
Stabbing someone for shoving you is not proportionate force. So it doesn’t even matter if Karmelo had a reasonable belief that the use of force was necessary since he is required under the law to use only the amount of force proportionate to the threat. He used excessive force by stabbing someone who only shoved him, and under the law he can be charged criminally for that, hence why he is being charged with murder.

In the official police report there is no mention by eyewitnesses of Metcalf having a weapon or doing anything to Karmelo other than shoving him when he wouldn’t get out of the tent.
Under the Texas Stand Your Ground law the force used must be proportionate to the threat. Excessive force used could lead to criminal charges (hence why Karmelo is being charged with murder). Using a knife on someone who only shoved you is excessive force…
This part of the law regarding proportionate force makes complete sense because otherwise for example kids and/or adults could just legally kill each other over a shoving match which is not a life threatening situation requiring lethal force. How many kids shove each other every day at schools across the U.S.? Should they legally be able to kill each other over that? No way, that is insane, and is an example of why this provision of the law is in place.
