This is the most obnoxious piece of legislation ever dumped onto the floor of the Federal Parliament.

It is the kind of power grab you would expect from a fascist or communist regime: handing government bureaucrats the authority to build an army of fake sock-puppet accounts to manufacture and pump out official propaganda.

That is not online safety. That is state-sponsored deception.

It’s an international embarrassment to Australia. It has sullied our reputation.

Everyone involved in this grotesque totalitarian scheme has no place in public office.

The eSafety Karen has demonstrated that she is an anti-free speech zealot - a sickening control freak, who wants to control what "the Australians" can hear, see and think - things the First Amendment would prevent her from doing in her home country. She is last person that should be given such powers. Instead should be sacked, and deported on the first plane.

The minister behind it, Anika Wells, is a proven serial rorter of her travel entitlements.

Combined with this bill and her arrogant demeanour, she has shown she is unfit to hold any public office.

This is a hill to fight and die on.

This legislation must be defeated.

Even if you disagree with my politics, imagine your opponents holding these powers.

Every Australian of all political persuasions needs to rise up and defeat this.

I thought it was a gee-up, but the draft legislation actually refers to “sock puppets” and allows eSafety Karen to create these “false or fictitious identities” to generate any type of “material” (propaganda) — “without limitation” — using “artificial intelligence.”

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

This proposed legislation empowers eSafety Karen to create an unlimited number of fake accounts using artificial intelligence to “generate material” — that is: anything the government wants to push.

Australians need to rise up. Civil disobedience might even be needed to stop such laws.

This cannot be allowed to pass Parliament.

If you were ever going to take a stand against a proposed law - this is it.
