Blaming asylum seekers for expensive energy bills? What about the £438,000,000,000 made by just 20 energy companies in profit?

Blaming immigrants for not getting an NHS appointment? What about the 260,000+ migrant workers keeping the NHS going? And what about the 25% real term cut in NHS funding, think that could do it?

Blaming people on welfare for a lack of money to fund the NHS? What about the £36,000,000,000 tax gap due to avoidance and evasion by the elite?

It's time to realise it's not immigrants, asylum seekers or people on welfare causing you any harm, it's capitalism and the mega rich hoarding all the wealth.

Blair accelerated Thatcherism Americanisation/privatisation with PFIs, tuition fees and Iraq war.

He now blames welfare for what privatisation has ensured.

In 1960s, the Beeching Report led to the closure of over 2,000 stations and thousands of miles of track. The justification at the time was exactly the same logic we hear today: “We can’t afford it.” “It’s inefficient. We need to cut costs.”

Fast-forward to 2026: we’re now spending billions trying to reverse some of those decisions, reopening lines, building HS2 (at huge cost), and pouring money into an overstretched network because the country needs modern, reliable rail for growth, decarbonisation, and connectivity.

This is the classic false economy: short-term “savings” that create much bigger long-term costs.

Which means this year's Pride will be bigger than ever.
