It still surprises me how many people don’t appreciate that general practice is in fact run by a network of small businesses which live or die by how much money their business makes in any year. No profit = no pay for GP partners.
I have selected 3 topical questions to be asked in @scotparl this afternoon.
1. @TessWhite4NE will ask @scotgov for its response to a @BMAScotland survey which found that 30 GP practices think their position to be "precarious" because the GP Sustainability Loan Scheme is paused.
Decision by SG to pause sustainability loan applications will destabilise surgeries & put at risk quality & continuity of care in many places. In some case it may even see practices close."
We welcome this issue being selected for a topical question.

2/5 Use a specialist medical accountant. It is vital to separate income from non-NHS sources. Otherwise your pensionable profits - and therefore your superannuation contributions – will be overstated
Not that we are biased but, more than ever, we believe there is a need for GP practices to work with specialist advisors – lawyers, banks and accountants

My fabulous colleagues @dcslegaluk are participating in the Edinburgh marathon festival this weekend. They’re far braver (and fitter) than I am! If you can spare any pennies to encourage them along (and raise funds for @SenseScotland ) here’s the link https://t.co/iibIGKNExj
