@shadowknightdk alien movies bring out the worst ratings for some reason. just look at Nope. give it a few years and people will come to realize it for the masterpiece it is
@PopDetective i absolutely hate the idea that “AI is democratizing creativity” the same phone or computer you use for ChatGPT can also be used to learn and create. it’s not leveling the playing field, it’s rewarding the lazy.
@trizzfilm that’s also not what i said. choosing to specifically show her childhood home in the back rooms isn’t just for funsies. Kane very clearly drew a connection between Mary and the backrooms idk why people pretend otherwise
@alicemoodyy no i would just like IMDB to put a movie in my watchlist under 2026 instead of 2025 so i dont forget the movie exists when looking up what to watch this weekend. or maybe i dont give a shit about film history, who’s to say?
@basedgizmo@ninguart@jongwoojanu why is everyone being insane about this? “lingering” counts as 2.5 seconds? and then it DOES shot-return-shot, like several times lol. the in-universe reaction times make sense, and it also gives the audience time to react. it’s the best outcome for something like this
@woop54 hmm i wonder why people compare all modern horror movies to the one that redefined the genre and influenced every indie adjacent horror movie that came after it
@ja_y007@jeremylovesyall shallow focus and lack of proper lighting/coloring has demolished movies. The Secret Agent instantly became memorable to me because i couldn’t get over how beautiful it looked. I just watched Mother Mary and was genuinely appalled by how dull that film looked.
