Amanda Ungaro was illegally (unlawfully) present in the United States from 2019 until her deportation in 2025.

She had entered the U.S. legally years earlier as a teenage model initially on temporary work/modeling visas sponsored through agencies connected to Paolo Zampolli and others. She renewed a series of temporary visas for nearly two decades, but her last temporary visa expired in 2019. After that, she had no lawful immigration status and remained in the country as a visa overstayer.

Pre-2019: Ungaro maintained temporary visas as a foreign model in New York. Zampolli, her ex-partner and former modeling agent, had helped facilitate her early U.S. work visas. There is no public evidence she entered illegally in 2002 or earlier — her arrival on the Epstein flight from Paris was as a minor model under agency-arranged documentation.

2019 onward: Her visa lapsed. She did not obtain permanent residency or citizenship despite a long relationship with Zampolli, who had previously dangled marriage/citizenship prospects, and later marriage to a green-card holder. She lived in the U.S. without legal status for roughly six years.

June 2025: Arrested in Miami on fraud charges related to a medical spa business she and her husband ran. While her husband, a green-card holder, was released on bail, Ungaro was flagged for immigration violations due to the expired visa.

Deportation: Transferred to ICE custody, held for over three months, and deported to Brazil around September/October 2025. She eventually requested the deportation order herself while in detention. DHS stated the removal followed standard procedure for her expired visa and the criminal charges — not political interference.

Zampolli, the father of their teenage son, contacted a senior ICE official during the custody battle and flagged her illegal status, but officials and DHS maintain the deportation would have occurred anyway because she was already out of status. Ungaro has disputed the process as retaliatory and politically influenced.
