@MsStarlights@Lowes That's extremely professional. I'm glad your store was organized and handled customers property. Congrats on getting your door buster!
Really disappointed and frustrated with my @Lowes in Summersville, WV this morning. There was a nice, orderly line for the Black Friday “first 50 customers” buckets… until an associate (possibly the manager) came out and yelled: “If you pre-registered for a bucket…”
Everything immediately turned into chaos.
People who had been waiting far longer—including me—were suddenly overtaken by people who arrived later as everyone rushed toward the employee to get a number. This promo was advertised as first in the door, not something you could pre-register for. The process was handled terribly.
I had planned to buy a $269 Kobalt miter saw and a few other items, but I just left. The situation was so poorly managed that I didn’t want to be “that guy” and cause a scene—and definitely don’t want to end up internet-famous over a bucket.
And it clearly wasn’t just me. While I was shopping in Walmart afterward, I overheard multiple people talking about how poorly the giveaway was handled at Lowe’s. So the frustration was shared.
As a Gold Key rewards member, it’s disappointing. Standing in 28° weather for a bucket that might contain a proprietary battery system already felt a little silly. After today, I’m seriously considering switching to DeWalt or Milwaukee (from someone other than Lowe’s) so I’m not locked into their brand ecosystem.
Really unfortunate way to start Black Friday. I’ll choose better next time.
Just realized after being contacted by a scammer posing as Lowe's Customer Care that they have a dedicated @LowesCares account. So, hopefully they'll see my post and respond with a resolution.
@ReallyAmerican1 I'd love to eat healthier, but it's hard to budget meals for a family of 5. I don't care what Trump or anyone else says, the cost of groceries (not junk, flour, bread, meat, etc.) is ridiculous. I'm not R or D, I'm an American that's sick of this crap. We need real leaders.
@enricofermi22@WVGovernor Because our education system is underfunded and mismanaged, and our healthcare is reactive instead of preventative. We have good doctors in WV, but the insurance, laws, and red tape tie their hands. Same for teachers, when we can keep them.
@Funko304@WVGovernor If we had that option, I'm sure many would. I would. But because PEIA is available to us we don't qualify for private/marketplace coverage unless we pay the full premium (~$1,200/mo). Trust me, if there were a different option I'd take it. Please, kill PEIA and go private.
@dbrunson2004@bevweis@WVGovernor Educate yourself on the statistics and then come back (Cheat Sheet: WV is ranked 50th out of 50 states). These 'leeches' are educating our children to lead the future. It's too late for you, but our kids need a well funded system. That starts with our teachers.
@fritzmon101@WVGovernor Why are our education unions playing checkers while the state is playing chess? We have a legislative session coming up. Why have we not told them if they don't fix it in 60 days, well fix it on the 61st day by staying home? It's time to step up!
@WVGovernor Then why is PEIA still broken? We're lowering taxes and bringing in record surpluses, yet the insurance public employees rely on is raising premiums and deductibles to the point we can't afford to keep our jobs. If WV is doing this we'll, why can't we fix/replace PEIA?
