Students from @NeenahSchools took a field trip to Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve. They transplanted the wild rice we've been growing, played some invasive species games, and learned about water careers.
Thanks, @uwgb, @ACL_grbwetlands, @NEWWater_WI and Atlas Science center!
@chairmang I'd like to see a congressional 50k. Aid stations, tears, representatives crushing bags of chips and downing them on the trail. The whole shebang.
Chris Acy of @WinnWaterways came in to speak and help @NeenahSchools Environmental Issues students wrap up a unit on invasive species. He discussed current threats, solutions, and even career options, and rounded things out by bringing some samples. Thanks Chris!
Environmental Issues @NeenahSchools students are growing wild rice for a Green Bay restoration project with @uwgb, while Nature Study students are exploring what will (soon, we hope) be vernal ponds. We're off to a busy start to spring!
@LordHuron Having planted roots in the Great Lakes as a kid, then working out west for several years, then returning again, this is the one I come back to.
Two @NeenahSchools#NHSChampions volunteered to collect water quality data from the Neenah Creek for @uwgb's Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Program, which monitors the system's health. Thanks Ali and Lizzie! #TogetherNHS
@seanmccoy Not a player, but I ran a campaign through Dead Planet, which took a little over 6 sessions and everyone survived. I probably ran it too soft though!
After a dearth of paddling last season, here's an early start to what I hope is a better year!
Side note: not only was this my earliest paddle to-date, it's my first with a combined air/water temp below 100. Brisk!
@guygavrielkay To Kill a Mockingbird has started to be considered as borderline problematic. I haven't read the criticisms in-depth, so can't judge the reasoning.
You know that feeling when youβre a kid on a long road trip, and itβs dark, maybe itβs raining, but youβre not freaked out because an adult is driving? Thatβs a nice feeling.
