The share prices of some of these companies have ballooned on the back of vaccines, it takes extreme naivety to offer them a way out at the expense of the patients and vulnerable people when doctors can see through the economy of truth they are paddling!

Drug companies serve a major purpose and need in medicine, that is without a doubt. But they have never and should never get a completely free pass even in a pandemic like this one! More so when they have positioned themselves as profiteers in the same pandemic!

all the time they invest billions of dollars in spin, campaigns and lawyers to discredit whatever challenges get thrown at their product - they use trusted professionals to make the statements that take responsibility from them - “no proof of...”, “extremely rare side effect”,

and before their patent expires, they convince you that they have found a weakness in their original formula and have now found a new modification that circumvents this, which interestingly they have patented 😏

- once they have an extended use license, they then seek to prove that the more you take of the product the better it works - so they make more money from it (while hiding the fact that side effects probably get worst)

- you have to interrogate what their product brochure says using your basic pharmacology and physiology teaching to make sense of their sales speech which is often delivered by non-medical drug representatives

- if they have achieved a limited license of indication they spend the next number of years proving efficacy beyond the original indication and applying for an extension to the indications for the use of their drug so that it reaches the above goal

PHARMACOLOGY 101 (unless you are a key opinion leader for a pharmaceutical company, or believe in the wisdom of KOL’s):
- every drug maker has one major goal - to create a drug that can be used by every person on earth (and have a patent on it).

Comparing fruits and vegetables to make a point - catchy but...:
- population per 1million per year vs per 100 000 cases vs per 100 000 deliveries vs per 100 000 people (maybe the last two have the closest resemblance) and finally the question at hand - 6.8million J&J vaccines.

@SouthAfricanASP Nice and catchy graphic, but it misses a lot of facts and undertones. Smoking is an individual’s choice. The moment we went for mass vaccinations and started talking about vaccine passports and mandatory vaccination - complications of this nature became relevant.
