It has taken 7 years and 10 months, 42 prosecution witnesses, and 81 exhibits presented by the ODPP for justice for Sharon Otieno to finally arrive.

Today, as Sharon's family sat in court to hear the verdict, we were reminded of the immense cost of justice delayed.

While we commend the prosecution, justice must not take nearly a decade. Across Kenya, from young girls to grandmothers, women continue to be lost to a horrific wave of femicide.

Our police, ODPP, and courts must bring the same rigor, urgency, and commitment to every case. not only those that attract national attention. We must all to our part to end the killing of women.

To @LawSocietyofKe and @ckanjama: Even the Advocates Complaints Commission died and was buried ten years ago. It’s far worse than the @Kenyajudiciary and @NPSOfficial_KE.

Most advocates are totally corrupt, incompetent, unethical, lack integrity, actively sabotage their clients’ cases, charge illegal fees and engage in conflicts of interest. The Kenyan Bar has absolutely no reputation.

Hospitals have no medicine.
Mothers are detained in maternity wards like debtors in a medieval prison.
Youth unemployment has exploded into a national time bomb.
The economy is bleeding from every artery ; taxes high, hope low, survival uncertain.

Our MPs?

They are busy chanting “Tutam! Tutam!” like hired hype men at a political concert ; fists in the air, brains on standby.

Parliament has humiliated itself.

These were supposed to be lawmakers, watchdogs, custodians of public trust. Instead, they have downgraded themselves into praise-singing accessories ; human microphones echoing executive talking points while citizens suffocate.

They don’t interrogate policy but they sanitize it.
They don’t question taxes but they legitimize them.
They don’t defend the public purse but they escort it to slaughter.

While hospitals ration painkillers, MPs are rationing courage.
While graduates roam streets jobless, MPs roam rallies chanting slogans.
While families skip meals, MPs clap for budgets that starve them further.

They were elected to check power, not serenade it.
To confront injustice, not choreograph around it.
To speak for the people, not sing for the throne.

At this point, “Tutam! Tutam!” is no longer a slogan it is the soundtrack of legislative surrender.

History will be brutal in its judgment:

When the nation was bleeding…
When the youth were drowning…
When mothers were detained…

These MPs were not fighting for the people. They were chanting.
