@seansramblings The winner of their group got the path with matches in Canada. They were the highest seeded team in their group. They advanced but failed to win their group.
Anthony Elanga, what kind of baller are you?
What a player.
And what a goal.
The finish against Japan was ridiculous.
Out of nowhere, on his weaker foot, and tucked perfectly into the far corner.
I don’t think there’s a goalkeeper in the world getting anywhere near that.
As spectacular as it was, I can’t say I was surprised.
This is exactly the type of player Elanga is.
He’s always looking to run in behind, always trying to stretch the back line, and defenders hate playing against that kind of pace.
The second he has grass to attack, he’s a nightmare.
He can carry the ball 30 or 40 metres at full speed, take defenders on, and still stay composed enough to pick out his finish.
You don’t see that combination very often.
Now he’s showing it on the biggest stage.
Two goals in 126 minutes at the World Cup says a lot.
He’s been massive for Sweden so far.
When Elanga is playing with confidence, he’s the type of player who can change a game in one moment.
Today was another reminder of exactly that.
@JakeSherman Monday-Wednesday only for suspension votes was the pre-COVID standard under both parties. Bringing that back was a rightful return to regular order, not a “bad decision.”
A's are calling up 1B/OF Joey Meneses from Triple-A Las Vegas, per source. Meneses has been crushing PCL pitching, batting .348 with a .944 OPS, 11 home runs, 20 doubles and 76 RBIs in 69 games.
@larssivertsen As a non-MAGA conservative, it feels like the left getting mad at FIFA for “normalizing” Trump has gotten in the way of us having appropriate bipartisan anger at the Trump administration for normalizing Infantino’s FIFA.

.@wmata Extremely minor problem, but I’m in car 6101 right now and the driver called the station we were at a few minutes ago “Silver Springs.” As you likely know, there is only one spring.
2/2 For me it’s a luxury, but for folks with wheelchairs, strollers, etc I’m sure it reduces the last minute scramble to be at the best door for their situation by a substantial amount.
.@wmataGM@wmata Can you please bring back the old all-caps font to the legacy trains? It was the best way to know from far down the platform, when a train first arriving in a station, what seat configuration it would have. 1/2
