While driving through Gloucester, MA, our Meter Service Technician Joe G. saw a live wire across the roadway. A driver unknowingly ran over it, and the wire became tangled in their wheel axle. Joe immediately took action - signaling for the driver to stay inside, keeping others back, calling 911, and alerting our Electric team to secure the area. His calm, quick response prevented the situation from escalating and earned him a Lifesaving Award. ⚡👏

➡️ Keep others away
➡️ Only exit if there’s fire and if you must, jump clear with both feet together and shuffle away

Our investment in the energy future of Britain and the US Northeast is accelerating. With regulatory support in both the UK and US, we are expanding the record-level of investment announced in 2024 by £10 billion to at least £70 billion over the next five years by FY2031.
This expansion recognises the broad change taking place across the energy system today. Electricity networks must increase capacity to respond to network growth and drive forward innovation in both the UK and US.
