I agree that immigration needs to be brought under control, but blanket bans by nationality aren't the answer. We need proper vetting, clear eligibility rules and a system that can actually enforce its decisions.

That's exactly the problem Renewal is trying to address. A new government shouldn't be able to simply scrap every long-term project and start again.

But I don't think the answer is removing democracy. The answer is creating stronger long-term institutions, cross-party commitments, transparent national targets and proper public accountability, so major projects can't be abandoned without a clear justification.

Britain needs the long-term planning of a serious state without sacrificing democratic accountability.

Well first i would look at the problems people are facing

• Cut government waste and bureaucracy
• Reform immigration and asylum
• Secure our borders and pressure France to cooperate on returns
• Review foreign aid and redirect poor-value spending towards Britain's priorities
• Reduce the tax burden as savings and growth allow
• Build more homes and infrastructure
• Modernise the NHS with AI and technology
• Rebuild British manufacturing and energy security
• Tackle crime, benefit fraud and antisocial behaviour
• Reduce debt through growth and responsible spending
• Invest in skills, innovation and new technology
• Protect long-term national projects from short-term political decisions

All under a 20-Year National Renewal Plan, with measurable targets and public accountability.

🇬🇧 BRITAIN NEEDS TO REFORM THE HOUSE OF LORDS

Unelected Lords can scrutinise and amend legislation passed by elected MPs.

Bills can then enter the “ping-pong” process — going back and forth between the Commons and Lords as each considers amendments.

In some circumstances, the Lords can delay legislation for around a year.

Why should an unelected chamber have so much influence over laws supported by elected MPs?

The immigration system clearly needs major reform, but changing laws or leaving the ECHR isn't a solution by itself.

Britain needs a complete long-term plan: secure borders, faster asylum decisions, action against people-smuggling gangs, lawful removals for those with no right to remain, and international agreements that make returns actually work.

And whatever government delivers it, the policy needs to be built to last. Governments shouldn't be able to come in, scrap everything and start again.
