FRFT and AFLF have issued a compliance notice regarding the Beverly/Morgan Park Juneteenth Family Festival.

Juneteenth is not a Pan-African cultural holiday. It is a United States emancipation commemoration tied to formerly enslaved people in America and their descendants.

The misuse of Pan-African colors and broad “African/African-American heritage” framing dilutes the specific historical status Juneteenth represents.

Verified Freedmen history must not be reclassified.
