Well, this election seems to be going far better for democrats than I’d feared.
Now we progressives can get back to the really important issues: like getting apocalyptically upset about British people making bad tacos on TV.

Ultra-MAGA Republicans are upset that Biden called them “Semi-Fascist” (after they’ve called liberals Satanic Communists and worse for ages,) but frankly “Semi” doesn’t begin to cut it. What else but Fascist begins to describe an extremist right-wing movement that openly disdains
democracy, tries to overturn fair elections it loses, condones political violence, has its own paramilitary brownshirts and blackshirts in the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, bans books from schools, takes away women’s rights (reducing them to incubators for the Herrenvolk,)
Physically assaulting someone for speaking is the very essence of and the worst kind of censorship. Nobody who calls themselves an artist should be defending it.
If there was any doubt before, the answer is now clear. Vladimir Putin is showing us all that a world without American power is not a better world.

Doing American civil war diplomacy research for my next book and realized that Russia is attempting to use gas & oil for international leverage in basically the same way the confederacy tried to use cotton. It didn’t work for the south, obviously, but because they held on to hope
that King Cotton would force the nations and empires of the world to accommodate them, the war ground on for five bloody and terrible years.
Perhaps the lesson from this is that the sooner Russia is made aware that the rest of the world would rather take the short-term economic
