Editors often see studies that overstate impact which can undermine trust rather than build it. Our new Editorial argues limitations aren't a flaw to hide and should not be an afterthought. They're a strength to build research on, especially in Engineering https://t.co/35LxnT6rKT

Aqueous zinc batteries are promising for safe energy storage but suffer from low specific energy. Here, Liu et al. report a solid-solid interfacial conversion mechanism, achieving high zinc utilization across cell formats with a 4 e- Zn||I2 pouch cell delivering 116.8 Wh kg-1.

Aqueous zinc batteries lose capacity while resting, limiting their use for grid storage. Here, Wu et al. show that low zinc salt concentration electrolytes suppress zinc corrosion by reducing reactive solvated water and maintain long cycling stability.

Internal cracks limit the durability of layered oxide positive electrodes in high-voltage Li-ion batteries. Zhao et al. show that phase transitions and lattice oxygen migration jointly drive crack propagation in LiCoO2, with trapped oxygen gas contributing to structural failure.
