News of the Gripen deal for Ukraine is another major achievement by Zelenskyy in strengthening the country’s defense. And another step in deepening Ukraine’s special relationship with Sweden.

But the bigger question is this: is Ukraine becoming a Nordic country?

Not geographically. Strategically.

For decades, Ukrainians thought of their place in Europe through the lens of Central and Eastern Europe. Some dreamed of an arc from the Baltic to the Black Sea.

After 2022, reality began to change doctrine. A renaissance in Ukraine’s relations with Northern Europe began.

It was driven by three forces: the North’s leadership in supporting Ukraine, backed by resources; frictions with partners in Central Europe; and Ukraine’s search for more strategic anchors in Europe.

For Ukrainians, this movement makes sense. More than a thousand years ago, the Varangians were an important part of the rise of Rus. In the early 18th century, Sweden was already an ally of Ukraine’s attempt to break free from Moscow’s rule.

But this is not only about history.

Ukrainians are drawn to the Nordic world, where strength does not contradict democracy, defense does not contradict prosperity, technology reinforces resilience, and cool-headedness serves freedom and dignity.

Kyiv will not change its geography. But its center of gravity is changing.

The Vikings are returning to Ukraine. And Ukrainians are charting their country’s path to the North.

It is still unclear where this will lead. But it is already a fascinating turn of history.

WARNING: This may trigger some. Because it’s true.

Our world is heading towards a conflict, the likes of which we have never seen. A war that will impact every corner of our planet.

And there is not a damn thing that can be done to stop it.

We call on our countries for “remigration” and “deportation”, but even if they did, that’s just scratching the surface. The illegal immigrants and people who are subject to deportation are a small number of the invaders that are here in our countries. Many are here legally and with citizenship. And many more are coming in all the time.

We are currently being out-bred here in our countries in astronomical numbers. Nothing is going to slow down the reproduction of those here to conquer us, and nothing seems to be increasing the output of everyone else.

Having elections – even if we were to elect governments right of center, or even far right of center – isn’t going to help. It’s far too late for that. The forces that wish to destroy us are here. In our cities, in our countries. They have positions in education, in government, in law enforcement and the judiciary. They’re embedded in every fabric of our society, making decisions, helping to form policy and law. Policy and law that will be used to enable them to take over.

Loudspeakers will be installed, and we will hear calls for prayer 5 times a day in cities and towns across our countries.

Each election, Western nations will see more and more Islamists being elected. There will be formations of Muslim parties at all levels of governments, and they will begin to win seats. They will become official opposition, form minority governments, and eventually majority governments. They will change laws. Freedoms and democracies will be removed. Sharia law will prevail.

People have been trying to sound the alarm for years on what is coming, and many tuned them out, ignored them, disbelieved them.

Now, finally, the conquerors are telling us themselves what they intend to do.

They’re telling us because they believe they’ve reached a point where they can’t be stopped. They feel they have the numbers and the support to carry out their invasion successfully.

They have stated they will do it by bullet or by ballot.

They will outvote everyone else to elect their own people, their own parties, implement their own laws.

They will conquer us by ballots.

And if we resist, they will turn to bullets.

These aren’t my words. They’re theirs.

This isn’t hyperbole or fear-mongering. It’s what they’ve told us. It’s what they’ve done elsewhere. It’s what they’ve been doing for 1400 years. It’s what they intend to keep doing, over and over and over again until they have it all.

This is what their god wants of them.

This is what their god demands of them.

And there are tens of millions of people who are committed to following that god.

Do we have a chance?

We’re quickly losing the opportunity to beat them by ballot, because we are not unified in our understanding of the threat, and too many don’t have the political wherewithal to deal with it. Our governments are splintered and corrupt. People get elected and then don’t follow through on promises.

Each election cycle, the votes against freedom and democracy will grow, as the votes for freedom and democracy shrink – this is just the changing demographics of our nations, based on reproduction rates.

So, it will come down to bullets.

It will be ugly.

It will be devastating.

There will be massive losses on both sides.

And there’s no guarantee who will be standing when it’s done

A Year Against All Odds. A Message from Commander Magyar.

We held our ground through this fourth year as well.
This is not a greeting. It is an interim reckoning.

In 2022, everything was carried on the shoulders of the best and the bravest – Warriors from among servicemen and civilian volunteers. Carried by sheer grit, despite fear, flight, and uncertainty. Carried by human solidarity and literal grassroots support with everything and for everyone. And a little later – also by ingenuity, just to stay alive, but also to strike back, to punish, to destroy.

2025 was a very different year. I will remember it as a year of countless “against all odds”:

– Against the overwhelming dominance in force and the Horde power aimed at erasing everything Ukrainian.

– Against the army’s entrenched, still incurable Soviet legacy.

– Against the unpunished, adaptive hydra of corruption latched onto every level and every flow.

– Against the “concern / deep concern,” then uncertainty, later vagueness, and eventually calculation and moderation of our partners – who provided not crumbs, but just enough so that we wouldn’t “collapse instantly back to NATO’s borders,” yet not enough for Ukrainians to suddenly grow strong to a dangerous degree and defeat the enemy, leading to uncontrolled fragmentation around nuclear button number two.
I won’t restrain myself here – against all this crafty bullshit, pardon my language.

There are countless more “againsts,” like fleas – no time to even formulate them.

I expect no miracles from 2026.
I do not expect the war to end either.
The bunker dweller has said everything out loud already: ramp up, double down, uproot, “liberate” (read – erase). He is welcome to go straight to hell. We will gnaw and peck, as we do now. To the end.

The plans of the USF Grouping for 2026 will be announced in the coming days – in detail, with new commitments.

The previous commitments, announced when I assumed command seven months ago, I consider fulfilled – thanks to many, but also despite much. And for now, the latter outweighs the former.
For the “thanks” – my gratitude goes to everyone involved.
As for the execution – let the Birds speak openly when they deem it appropriate.

I thank every Bird – you achieved the impossible this year.

The USF child, born in 2024, whose impact on the course of the war just seven months ago fell within the margin of error (4% of all confirmed strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces), today delivers 36% of the total result, while accounting for only 2% of the army’s manpower.

There will be more of us – those who carry the load get loaded even more.

We critically need five effective technological percent. Then the glorious but exhausted infantry will finally be able to draw breath, and the duel will become symmetrical in depth and in felt impact.

I conveyed this at every level and on every continent accessible to me. I substantiated it – and the Birds proved it with results on the scoreboard.

We enter a new year of war remembering and honoring each of the 131 fallen Bird-Brothers and Sisters from all twelve units of the USF Grouping since its founding.
For each of you, the enemy has paid with exactly one full battalion of worm troops. This repayment will never be equivalent – and it will continue to the end.

To all the living, I wish you to return alive and unharmed, though I will not promise that it will be soon.

Starting tomorrow, we launch a new educational project.
And we continue the fight and the scaling of impact.

The December exchange rate of time for worms has been tested – four hundred per day throughout December (12,000 ☠️🩸 in a month).

So we start the year confidently:
each single day – minus one full assault-strength worm battalion.
And then we’ll see.

To the people of Ukraine, I wish strength, endurance, safety, and life.

In 1939, Sweden’s armoured corps was still in its absolute infancy. The nation fielded only a few dozen light tanks—mainly the ageing Strv m/21-29 and the newly purchased Strv m/37, a Czech design assembled under license.

Yet the timing was critical.
Across the Baltic, the Winter War had just exploded, and Europe was sliding into chaos. With war on its doorstep, Sweden began a crash effort to modernize—an effort that would later produce some of the world’s most respected armoured vehicles.

This photo captures a moment before that transformation—
a tiny tank force, lined up with perfect discipline, right before Sweden’s defence industry became the powerhouse it is today.
