Heartbreaking Farewell 💔🐻

Today we said goodbye to our beloved bear, Mark.
Rescued from a restaurant in Albania, he spent 3 peaceful years at BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach.

Despite loving care, his health declined—and we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go. 🌈

Lewis Hamilton: “Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts. I want to keep you all updated. Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted into hospital and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the process his heart stopped. They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know whether he will wake from this. Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up. I’m by his side and want to thank you all for your prayers and support.”

Mountain Lion Wanders into Colorado Pet Store, Discovers Catnip

Colorado Springs residents witnessed an unusual wildlife encounter when a mountain lion found its way into a neighborhood pet store. Employees preparing to open for the day were startled to discover the unexpected visitor lounging in the aisles.

Security footage later revealed the animal had slipped inside during the night. With quiet confidence, it strolled past shelves of dog food and bird seed, heading directly toward the section stocked with cat toys.

After investigating, the lion pulled a bag of catnip from the shelf, tore it open, and began rolling on the floor. The big cat rubbed its face and paws in the herb, seemingly enthralled by its new discovery.

By the time staff arrived, the animal was sprawled comfortably in the toy aisle, surrounded by shredded packaging. Wildlife officers were quickly called in and safely guided the lion back outdoors, eventually relocating it to nearby foothills.

While experts note that mountain lions typically do not respond to catnip the way domestic cats do, the pungent scent may have triggered playful curiosity. Reflecting on the incident, the store’s owner offered a lighthearted remark: “Colorado has a reputation for plants that make people feel good — looks like our wildlife is catching on too.”

January of 2023 Chesnyy joined our home and it was wonderful. September 15th is her birthday. The past 2 she shared with her mentor, Kuno, and her pal Pistol and his older little brother, Sam. It makes me sad that year none of them are alive to celebrate with us.
We have Mars, the little landshark puppy here for a few weeks off training, but I suspect he'll refuse to wear a party hat, will bark at her cake and try to eat the candle and it's just not the same as celebrating with the dogs that were your family.
Although realistically I'm sure she doesn't care about her birthday party and is just there for the meatcake, it just feels so sad that this year she'll be the only one there with a hat and a balloon. 😞 I sure do miss the boys.
