זהו סיפורו של רס"ב במיל' רן יעבץ ז"ל.
רן בנם הבכור של יהודית ואבי, ואחיהם הגדול של בן, גל, נוי וניר. היה נשוי לתמר ואב לארבעה ילדים - איתי, נגה, אור ורנה, שנולדה חודש לאחר נפילתו.
רן היה נער חכם, סקרן ועקשן, אהוב על חבריו. אהב את מכבי תל אביב בכל ענף, בעיקר בכדורגל ואת האהבה הזו הוריש לאחיו הקטנים ולילדיו. מגיל 14 לא פספס אף משחק, ותמיד חזר הביתה צרוד מהעידוד.
בגיל 18 התגייס לצה"ל ושירת בצנחנים. יצא לקורס מכי"ם, הדריך בביסל"ח - ושם גם ביצע את כל שירות המילואים שלו, במשך 18 שנה. שנה אחר שנה, ללא היסוס, מתוך תחושת שליחות אמיתית.
רן היה אבא מדהים - מעורב, נוכח, תומך, תמיד שם, בגוף ובנפש, למען ילדיו.
אדם ערכי, שתמיד עזר, התנדב, ולא אמר "לא" - בכל שעה ובכל מקום.
חבריו מעידים שהיה "החבר הכי טוב" של כולם.
הערכים שהובילו את רן היו: כיבוד אב ואם, אהבת המשפחה, אהבת האדם ואהבת הארץ.
ב-7.10.2023, עם פרוץ המלחמה רן גויס למילואים ושירת כחצי שנה.
שלושה ימים לאחר תחילת הלחימה, כש"אחים לסמל" (עמותת אוהדי מכבי ת"א) פתחה חמ"ל סיוע ללוחמים, שאלו את רן אם חסר לו ציוד ומה ניתן להביא למחלקה שלו. הבקשה היחידה שלו הייתה: דגלי ישראל. הוא הסביר שאין דגלים על נגמ"שים ושחשוב לו שהדגל יתנוסס בגאווה. וכך היה - הוא קיבל את הדגלים, ודאג לתלות אותם גבוה ככל האפשר.
רן נפל בעת פעילות מבצעית ב-16.5.2024, היום לפני שנה.
הוא בחר לסכן את חייו מתוך תחושת שליחות עמוקה, כדי שתושבי מדינת ישראל, ובפרט תושבי העוטף, יוכלו לחיות חיים בטוחים ושקטים.
הצוואה שרן השאיר לנו:
להיות תמיד אופטימיים ושמחים, לראות את הטוב בכל דבר, לעזור לאחרים ולתת את הכול למען מדינת ישראל.
בן 39 במותו. גיבור ישראל.
שנה חלפה אך האובדן רק הולך וגדל וכך הגעגוע של משפחתו וחבריו. יהי זכרו ברוך🇮🇱🕯

Eli Sharabi was released this morning as part of the hostage deal. This is how he looks after enduring captivity under Hamas. Dozens of Israelis remain in captivity.
Israeli TV (12) is now reporting that, only upon his release, he has learned the devastating news that his entire family—his wife Lianne and two teenage daughters Noiya (16) and Yahel (13)—were murdered by Hamas on October 7.
