LT Smith provided countless hours of instruction to junior officers and future department heads, and was selected as "best instructor" by his students on multiple occasions.

Naval Submarine School students enjoy Polynesian themed entrees during @SUBASE_NLON's Cross Hall Galley special meal of the month. Each month the galley puts together a unique meal to boost morale and to introduce personnel to food from different cultures.
Thirteen of Smith’s students were recognized directly by the Director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program for academic excellence. Additionally, Lt. Smith's innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed for uninterrupted instruction throughout the pandemic. Congrats Sir!
Bravo Zulu to Lt. Benjamin D. Smith, the Prospective Nuclear Engineering Officer for the Naval Submarine School! Through his hard work and dedication, Smith ensured that over 150 officer students passed the engineer examination.
Navy authorizes Relaxing of Facial Covering Requirement for Fully Immunized Personnel. Initial guidance has been promulgated through DOD Memorandum and a NAVADMIN Message authorizing fully immunized personnel to relax their facial covering requirement on DOD / Navy installations.
