A surprising twist in CsPbBr3-xClx perovskites! Contrary to previous views, they exhibit a monoclinic structure with P2₁/m symmetry at room temp, a fourfold larger unit cell. Melt-grown CsPbBr₂Cl crystals make γ-ray detectors with 7.2% energy resolution.

Using dielectric spectroscopy and low temperature X-Ray diffraction experiments, we have demonstrated how cationic variations in lead free A3Bi2I9 perovskites changes their dielectric and structural properties. A wonderful collaboration with Dipankar Das Sarma and Sam Stranks.
