Looking back on another incredible year ๐๐ผ
From opening new learning hubs across Greater Manchester to welcoming new team members & celebrating all of the incredible achievements that our learners have accomplished, here are some of our highlights from our 2024/5 year ๐๐ผ
"Feeling understood is what makes progress possible"
Fantastic to see this feature, penned by our Founder & CEO, Anthony Thompson, in the May/June edition of @SENMAGAZINE - the UK's leading journal for Special Educational Needs.
Highlighting the value of smaller, adaptable learning environments and stronger links between mainstream and alternative education, the article sets out how a more integrated, relationship-led approach can help more young people thrive.
This progress is only possible because of the commitment shown by both our learners and our staff every single day.
We cannot wait to see what the overall attendance figures look like for our 2025/6 year this summer ๐
#Navigators#AttendanceFigures#AlternativeEducation
An update on the attendance figures at our 121 college ๐ซ๐
Behind every attendance figure is a young person rebuilding trust, confidence, and routine.
Many learners join Navigators after long periods of disrupted education and low engagement with college life.
For us, this represents far more than numbers on a spreadsheet. It reflects:
โญ Young people reconnecting with education
โญ Positive habits are being developed
โญ Increased confidence and resilience
โญ Learners choosing to engage consistently
Looking ahead, Michelle is focused on strengthening the employee experience, growing our talent pipeline, and continuing to build a positive culture with clear opportunities for development.
We're so glad you're here to help the team thrive, Michelle ๐คฉ
Meet the Team: Michelle, Talent Acquisition & Development Manager โจ
Michelle has been with Navigators for 17 months, supporting colleagues from the moment they join the team, through to their growth and development.
๐ฌ โMy favourite thing about working at Navigators is our shared purpose - supporting students to achieve the best outcomes. Itโs something Iโm really proud to be part of. And honestlyโฆ Iโm surrounded by colleagues who care deeply about what they do"
Wow - what an incredible donation! ๐
A massive thank you to Heather and the team at Fashion Retail Consultancy for providing a huge collection of ex-sample clothes for our Year 11 prom.
Our students are going to be thrilled, and weโre so grateful for your support ๐
We finish today for a well-deserved half-term break, and our student programmes will recommence from Monday 1st June ๐๏ธ
We hope you all enjoy the break, and if you need any additional resources during half term, here is some helpful information on various organisations๐๐ผ
Every learnerโs journey is unique, and itโs important to us that their individual successes are recognised, celebrated, and used to inspire others.
A huge well done to all our learners for the dedication, resilience, and progress they continue to show every day ๐
We are incredibly proud of our learners at Navigators College, who have been working hard to achieve their AQA Unit Awards - gaining formal recognition for developing skills in their chosen areas of interest.
At our college, we believe achievement goes far beyond traditional academic study programmes. We are committed to recognising and celebrating progress more holistically - valuing not only academic success, but also the development of soft skills and semi-independent living skills
"In the SEND and alternative education sector, mental health support isnโt an add-on - itโs the foundation that enables every learner to feel safe, valued, and ready to engage with education" - Aisha, Navigators' Mental Health Nurse
Thatโs why mental health support must be embedded into the fabric of education - not treated as an afterthought or a reactive measure. It requires collaboration between educators, clinicians, & support staff, all working together to create environments where students can thrive.
