The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.

A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.

A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.

These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.

The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.

A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

I have written to the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India requesting that the Supreme Court take suo moto cognizance of the recent incident from Maharashtra where a 15-year-old minor boy was arrested purely based on the statement of a VHP worker that he was "shouting pro-Pakistan slogans inside his house" during a cricket match.

Here's how the shocking case has unfolded:

- A VHP worker filed a case with Malvan Police in Maharashtra claiming that he "heard pro-Pakistan slogans coming from a house while he was outside" during the India-Pakistan cricket match on Sunday

- Without ANY evidence, the Malvan Police arrested a 15-year-old minor Muslim boy and his father

- Subsequently, a rabidly communal Minister in Maharashtra directed the Malvan municipal authorities who went ahead and demolished the house of the minor boy as well as his father's shop

This is not only disgusting but also a case of the utter lawlessness in Maharashtra where even a minor Muslim child has been targeted purely for dirty communal politics of the BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde)

Unless the Supreme Court comes down hard on this nonsense, these BJP & Shinde Sena Ministers will continue to brazen it out with the help of shameless pliant police and municipal authorities.

I've prayed to the CJI that the Supreme Court may take up this matter suo moto urgently.

राहुल ने लन्दन में अपनी स्पीच में सावरकर के द्वारा लिखे उस वाकये का उल्लेख किया था, जिसमे वे सावरकर द्वारा लिखी घटना के बारे में बताते है कि किस तरह कुछ लोगो के साथ मिलकर उन्होंने एक मुस्लिम पर हमला किया, और इस कृत्य को आनंददायी पाया।

सात्यकि सावरकर ने इस पर राहुल गांधी पर डिफेमेशन का केस किया है। याने राहुल ने सावरकर पर अपमानजनक बात कह दी, उन्हें झटपट सजा दो।

राहुल गांधी ने इस केस को समन ट्रायल में बदलने की मांग की। उन्होंने अपने कथन की पुष्टि में ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेज कोर्ट में रखने की इजाजत मांगी है।

इस अर्जी से सात्यकि सावरकर के पैरों तले जमीन खिसक गई है। खारिज करने की गुहार लगाई है।

लेकिन समस्या यह कि दस्तावेज पेश हुए, तो एक ही नही। और भी सैंकड़ो खुलासे होंगे।

तमाम नफरती, फासिस्ट और ऐसी बाते जो सावरकर ने लिखी है, जो आम लोगो तक नही पहुची हैं, सब पहुचेंगी।

फिर सात्यकि सहित, सावरकर की सभी संताने शर्मिंदा होएंगी। एक पूरी विचारधारा की गंगोत्री की गंदगी दिख जाएगी।

माफी के पैसों से ब्याज का धंधा चलाने वाला यह शख्स, कोर्ट में प्रामाणिक रूप से एक्सपोज होगा।

बहरहाल, सात्यकि सावरकर, पेशे से आईटी इंजीनियर हैं, हिंदुत्व एक्टिविस्ट हैं। वे माफीवीर के छोटे भाई, नारायण सावरकर के पोते हैं।

इनकी पूजनीया माताजी, हिमानी सावरकर गोपाल गोडसे, ब्रदर ऑफ नाथूराम गोडसे की सुपुत्री थीं, ऐसा इंडियन एक्सप्रेस ने रिपोर्ट किया था।
