This is the team that runs our medicine factory in Research Triangle Park, Lilly’s first new U.S. site in 40 years when announced. It makes the leading medicine for obesity and diabetes for millions of US patients. Building it was harder than we thought: 3.5 years from announcement to first pack, six years to peak capacity. Pharma patent clocks and build clocks don't line up unless you design a platform - one that runs follow-on products and that the third, fourth, and fifth plants can reuse. We did. Thank you, North Carolina state and local leaders, and a workforce that delivered. You set the template. We're now building/built in Concord, Kenosha, Huntsville, Houston, Lebanon ( a town in Indiana!), Richmond, and the Lehigh Valley. What still slows delivery: permit timelines and associated NIMBYisms, grid connections that aren't ready when the steel is, and big labor gaps in the building trades. The fixes are straightforward. Moving colleges and state, local, and federal agencies all at once is not. Building is hard. Doing it in America is worth it. #WeAreLilly

This is fitting. Dolly Parton is American royalty. She easily could've been a billionaire, but she just kept giving away her money. She gave over $600M to charity, without any fanfare. When Gatlinburg got decimated by wildfires, she didn't give to an NPO...she paid $1,000 a month directly to families who lost their homes, totaling over $12M in direct cash aid to the victims. She also paid 100% of the tuition & books for the kids of any of her 11K employees. Dolly was the ultimate icon of American greatness: be great so you can do great. She simultaneously built a formidable business empire, and fostered a universally-beloved reputation that spans every clique in America. I've literally never heard a single disparaging word about Dolly from anyone. I know everyone will try to "claim" her for their pet political issue, or whatever...but she transcended politics and petty partisanship her entire life, and we should honor that now that God has called her home. She was just a genuine blessing to our country, and perhaps the best example of what an American should aspire to be. Faithful. Great. Prolific. Kind. Generous. Humble.

I cannot believe how big of a fumble the @UFLDefenders made with this Wale performance. Truly incompetent incomprehensible stuff. Joke of a staff if this is the best yall can do. Be embarrassed. And be better.

@UFLDefenders you should be embarrassed putting Wale on a tiny stage in the end zone when he should be center field. Organizational embarrassment and disaster planning
