Catch the touts, don’t alienate the innocents. Manchester United are a great club but they can go about handling sensitive situations naively and, in this case, aggressively. On the way to a works do but needed to address this issue. Work with fans, not seemingly against them.
Many attempts have been made in recent years to bring together influential supporter groups that can prioritise the often underrepresented voice of Manchester United’s match going supporters.
The recent actions of Manchester United have finally achieved what those efforts could not: a unanimous, historic and unprecedented unification of MUST, TRA, MUYSC, The 1958, all Fans’ Forum representatives, more than 100 Official Supporters’ Clubs, Red News and United We Stand.
Earlier today, a message was sent to Manchester United emphasising full support for the Fans’ Forum’s recent letter relating to the premature suspension of Season Ticket Holders without required evidence.
In summary, we have reiterated the demands made by the FF (detailed below):
• Immediately halt the ongoing suspension process.
• Immediately retract all unproven suspensions.
• Confirm the current number of Season Tickets.
• Explain its apparent policy of reducing the number of Season Tickets.
• Confirm that all reclaimed Season Tickets are reissued as Season Tickets to supporters on the Season Ticket waiting list.
Once an official written response has been received from Manchester United, it will be shared in the interests of transparency and fairness. The potential consequences of the Club’s response will also be shared as soon as they have been confirmed.
Premier League fans deliver damning verdict on VAR. 75% of 7,946 fans polled by the Football Supporters’ Association “didn’t support the use of VAR”. Too long, too forensic, too much of a joy killer, fans say. Findings shared with Premier League and PGMO.
92% of fans surveyed “agreed” that “VAR has removed the spontaneous joy of goal celebrations” (82% of them “strongly agreed”).
85% of match-going fans “strongly disagreed” with the notion that “VAR makes watching football more enjoyable”. And 83% of those watching on TV.
85% of match-going fans “strongly disagreed” that “VAR decisions are generally resolved in a reasonable amount of time”. Echoed by 83% of those watching on TV.
Only 18% agreed that “VAR has improved the overall accuracy of refereeing decisions”.
72% are “concerned about the expansion of VAR beyond its current remit”.
79% “strongly disagreed” with the suggestion “that the match-going experience is better with VAR”.
67% “strongly agreed” that they preferred “watching games that are played without VAR to games with VAR”.
84% “strongly support” goal-line technology.
34% “strongly opposed” to the idea of a challenge system (two per game per team).
“These findings back up the FSA's previous survey in 2021, where fans expressed misgivings about the introduction of VAR,” says Thomas Concannon, @WeAreTheFSAPremier League network manager.
“The vast majority are reporting the same concerns five years on - the loss of spontaneity when celebrating goals, and an overall worsening of the match-going experience. We have shared the survey results with the Premier League and PGMO, and look forward to discussing its findings with them.” Fans surveyed of all PL clubs and all ages (Under-18 to 65+).
🗣️Old Trafford: Stolen in Plain Sight
Supporters asked to engage with a process that offered limited transparency and no meaningful opportunity to scrutinise key assumptions, financial models, or long term impacts.
Engagement through pre selected forums without genuine challenge risked exactly what it became, a rubber stamping exercise rather than an open consultation.
The club in full PR mode wheeling out all the bollocks when we all know this is nothing more than sacrificing our home at the altar of greed.
Old Trafford is all we have left our history, our home, our identity and now even that is being chipped away, piece by piece.
The Americanisation of the game, the dilution of fan culture, the pricing out of generational supporters.
It’s not just change, it’s loss.
The 1958 🇾🇪
Just heard palace fans singing that ‘woah woah ‘ song that other teams including United fans copied of them.
A good reason why we should surely sing the better & more original

"Jim Ratcliffe told us he wanted to put the Manchester back in Man Utd. He's taking it out." 🗣️
Man Utd fans were out in full force to support The 1958's protest against the club's ownership 🔴
Follow Up Fulham Protest ✊
Thank you to the thousands of fans who turned out before the Fulham game. Your presence mattered. It showed that fan culture at this club is still alive and still prepared to stand up when it is directly attacked. This action gained national and worldwide media coverage.
Protests matter culturally and on an emotional level. They let the club and ownership know that we are watching. That we are not going away and that we are not fucking happy.
This protest was about ticket prices, access, atmosphere and supporter culture. It was about the systematic removal of ordinary fans so football can be sanitised, globalised and sold back to us at ever increasing prices. This is not accidental. It is a choice being made by those who see football as a product rather than a community.
Protests are not and never have been a silver bullet. They require dedication, commitment and an unyielding belief.
Old Trafford 🏟️
Old Trafford is our home. Not a commodity. Not a branding exercise. Not a development opportunity. It is the last physical link many supporters have to this club, alongside terrace traditions handed down through families and generations.
Ticketing & Fan Culture 🎟️
We will continue to stand for fan culture and for affordable football for this generation, the next generation and those yet to be born. Football without supporters is nothing.
Responsible Ownership ⚖️
We want responsible ownership. Let there be no ambiguity. Not the Glazers. Not INEOS. Neither represent responsibility, accountability or respect for Manchester United or its supporters. Protests have never been about results, managers or signings. They weren’t in 2005. They weren’t in 2010. They never have been since. We will support this club and this team no matter what happens on the pitch. That support is unconditional. Our opposition to ownership that harms the club is not.
To those who mock, to those who sneer and to those who laugh while doing fuck all, it says more about the type of person you are than anything else. To those who seem obsessed by us (probably bots or idiots) but have been blocked by our automation, seriously get a fucking life. To the too cool for school crowd distracted by a couple of decent results and thinking this doesn’t affect you, it will. Ask yourselves where this road leads.
You will not be laughing when tickets cost £100 to £150 per game. You will not be laughing when you are sat in a soulless bowl stripped of identity and filled with Americanised bollocks. You will not be laughing when families can’t be introduced to our club. Everything that once made our club and English football the envy of the world is being hollowed out for profit.
We do not do this for recognition. We monetise nothing. We gain nothing. There is no hidden agenda. This is purely about love for our club and for those who passed it on to us in the right way.
That is our only motivation.
Family.
Club.
Community.

🛑 WHY PROTEST? 🛑
🚫 Increase in draconian attendance regulations
💷 Price hikes for kids and concessions
🚨 Heavy handed bans at aways because of I.D. demands and removal of season tickets for long serving matchgoers
📉 2,500 season ticket holders gone from Old Trafford in just 2 years 🤔
🎟️ Increase in tickets appearing on resale sites
❌ Removal of away ballot statistics and transparency
📸 Social media influencers popping up at Leeds away 🤷🏻♂️
🙉 An ownership that ignores fan reps and supporter groups
🚪 Massive turnstile queues caused by cuts to stewarding
👷♂️ Time served, experienced stewards sacked or not renewed
📉 Steward numbers slashed, safety and fan experience treated as expendable
🧬 A deliberate strategy to dilute fan culture and erase generations of supporters who made United what it is
🇺🇸 A strategy to turn our game into a commercialised American product
🎪Flaunting a Disneyland circus stadium no STH fucking wants!
🤬 They do what they want and fuck over the fans
⚠️ It’s only going to get worse
⚠️ And they WILL get to you, don’t think they won’t.

The 1958 🇾🇪
@The__1958 To those saying why protest when we are winning- it’s not about that.
It’s about the thousands of fans being priced out, the excessive commercialisation, the owners not listening, the clubs soul being destroyed, a new stadium we don’t want, the way staff have been treated etc.
🗣️DO NOT GET DISTRACTED BY CLUB & PRESS PR
Intended to move the narrative away from the real issues at the club.
Glazers, Ratcliffe and INEOS
We deserve better and our traditions need to be respected.
• Show fans are important with actions and not platitudes
• Reward loyalty stop exploiting it
• Act as the blueprint for other clubs to follow in protecting loyalty and fan culture
• Sort the ticketing and fairness system out
• Remove the profit and loss mandate for the ticket office its the wild west.
• Start acting like a bastion of the premier league
Performances on the pitch, signings, managers and a Disneyland circus stadium experience are secondary.
The 1958🇾🇪
Letter To @AndyBurnhamGM Mayor Of Manchester.
Dear Mayor Burnham,
I am writing to you not only as a football supporter, but as someone who believes deeply in Manchester’s identity, heritage, and future.
I urge you in the strongest possible terms to reject the regeneration application put forward by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazer family. This proposal is not about the people of Manchester, nor about football, nor about genuine regeneration. It is about power, vanity, and profit at the expense of a historic institution that helped put this city on the global map.
For nearly 20 years, Manchester United has been systematically hollowed out by the Glazer family. Since their leveraged takeover in 2005, the club has been burdened with over £1 billion in debt, interest payments, fees, and dividends. While rival clubs invested in stadiums, training facilities, local jobs, and community infrastructure, Old Trafford was allowed to decay its roof leaking, facilities falling behind, and safety repeatedly questioned. This neglect was not accidental; it was the predictable outcome of an ownership model designed to extract wealth rather than build value.
During this period, the Glazers paid themselves hundreds of millions of pounds in dividends while the club’s competitiveness, reputation, and relationship with supporters steadily eroded. This is not regeneration. This is extraction.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS now present themselves as saviours, yet their actions raise serious concerns. This project increasingly appears to be a vanity-led redevelopment, using Manchester United’s cultural and emotional capital to secure planning permissions, public goodwill, and long-term commercial upside without clear guarantees that the club, its supporters, or the local community will truly benefit.
Manchester United is not a property asset.
It is not a branding exercise.
It is not a financial instrument.
It is a civic institution, woven into the social, cultural, and economic fabric of this city. The club’s name is synonymous with Manchester across every continent. To allow those who have demonstrably damaged it to now reshape large parts of our city in their own image would be a profound failure of stewardship.
You have long spoken about protecting Manchester from decisions imposed by distant elites who do not live with the consequences of their actions. This is one of those moments. Approving this project would reward two decades of mismanagement and signal that global financiers can exploit our greatest institutions, then return asking for civic approval when it suits them.
Regeneration must be done with the people of Manchester, not to them.
It must be rooted in transparency, accountability, and community ownershipnot debt, leverage, and legacy-polishing.
Manchester deserves better.
Manchester United deserves better.
I ask you to stand with supporters, residents, and future generations by rejecting this application and demanding a vision for regeneration that genuinely serves the city and protects its soul.
Yours sincerely,
A concerned Manchester United supporter
🗣️A CALL FOR UNITY AND TO CAST ASIDE DIFFERENCES
Some journalists, paid accounts, and bots will do everything they can to discredit and defuse any message or action that challenges this ownership. That’s expected, we have always had to put up with this.
We do what we do for one reason only, the love of our club. Nothing else. We have never monetised this. We have never sold access, clicks, or credibility, unlike others.
We put ourselves out there to defend and fight for our club, fan culture and for the next generation of supporters. We are just honest, hard working lads who refuse to be silenced.
Look around. Cut through the bullshit. They do not want fans united against the ownership, so they will do whatever they can to divide opinion and fracture support.
We urge fans to unite, stay the course this time, no matter any previous differences. We can all go back to calling each other 🤬 after if needed. Fans are not the problem. We are not the problem.
One unified goal: the removal of this rotten ownership and inept executive team.
Follow the truth.
Tomorrow belongs to those who see it coming.

🗣️PRESS RELEASE: PROTEST ANNOUNCEMENT
It has been an extraordinary and deeply troubling few days at Manchester United.
On the pitch, we are watching mediocre performances from an average team drifting without identity, direction, or ambition. Off it, the chaos is even worse.
A manager has reportedly been dismissed not primarily for abject performances against Grimsby, Everton, West Ham, and Wolves, but allegedly for a heated exchange with Jason Wilcox. Wilcox a man with just nine months’ experience as a Director of Football at Southampton is said to have attempted to interfere tactically, despite the club hiring Ruben fully aware of his rigid system. The situation beggars belief.
This decision was allegedly endorsed by Omar Berrada, a CEO with no prior experience in the role, listening to the complaints of a close ally rather than exercising independent leadership. We are once again witnessing Manchester United being run by executives learning on the job, at the expense of results, stability, and credibility.
Let us be clear: this is not a defence of Ruben or the football served up under him. Much of it was unacceptable. But his dismissal once again exposes the continued dysfunction at our club.
Manchester United is now owned by a toxic partnership where fans are getting the worst of both worlds.
The Glazers continue to cream money off the top, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS hammer supporters at the bottom. Together, they are running one of the biggest clubs in world football like a local corner shop penny pinching, short term, and utterly devoid of vision.
WE CALL FOR A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN THE OWNERSHIP, BERRADA AND WILCOX
Over $1 billion has already been sucked out of Manchester United at the altar of greed.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has betrayed the hope and faith many supporters placed in him and INEOS. He was supposed to be change. Instead, he has become the perfect Glazer shield absorbing public criticism while Joel and Avram Glazer quietly continue their asset stripping behind the scenes.
Nothing has changed. In truth, it is worse.
Our club is run like a media circus. The social accounts a mess, the clubs a mess with access and tickets thrown about like confetti to influencers. Fan culture being destroyed on and off the pitch
INEOS’ incompetence is now clear for all to see. The direction of their intentions is obvious. We expect further marginalisation of match-going fans, continued bullying of season ticket holders, and an accelerated move toward a future where supporters are priced out entirely.
A model where fans pay £100-£150 per match, mirroring the grotesque PSL system, is no longer a distant threat it is looming closer with every decision they make. Our club again leading the way across the Premier League in how to exploit not reward loyalty.
Fans have been banned from home and away games, not for violence or disorder, but to free up tickets to be sold to tourists chasing a “once-in-a-lifetime experience”. We’ve had the club flouting their own rules and passing on away tickets to darts players. Leeds away should have been a line in the sand. It wasn’t.
We warned about this.
We warned where this was heading.
Too many are now sleepwalking into the abyss.
Earlier this season, we asked supporters if they wanted to protest. Many chose to give Sir Jim time. That time has been squandered. The situation is undeniably worse.
That is why we will protest at Fulham at home on Sunday 1st February (or Spurs on the 7th should the club decide the Munich remembrance takes place on the 1st).
This protest is for:
* Fans being priced out
* Fans being marginalised
* Fans being banned
* Fans being treated as an inconvenience rather than the lifeblood of this club
Manchester United is 150 years old. That proud history, built by generations of supporters, must be protected.
If we do not act now, the club we pass on will be unrecognisable stripped of its culture, its soul, and its people.
This needs to be stopped.
We must fight for our club.
We must fight for fan culture.
Before it is too late.
If you knew you couldn’t play tomorrow, how hard would you play today?

United front….Manchester United fan groups join forces to back Football Supporters' Association nationwide campaign to freeze ticket prices for two seasons. The 1958, MUST, The Red Army (TRA) and the Manchester United Youth Supporters Club co-sign letter with 100+ fans’ groups from the 19 other Premier League clubs to campaign for a fairer deal on ticketing.
“After a transfer window in which clubs spent a net £1.2bn on players, and with £400m a year going out the door on agents’ fees alone, it is perfectly clear that clubs could afford such a step to recognise the value and importance match-going supporters bring to the Premier League," United fans say in a statement.
Steve Crompton, spokesperson for the group, says, "One voice is louder than many and that’s why we’ve come together with a united front to support this campaign. Our common goal is for the Club to put fans first and nowhere is that more needed than on the issue of ticket pricing. At United and across the league we see prices rise and rise, pricing people out and killing the atmosphere that makes English football. It’s time to freeze the prices and prove they meant it when they said ‘football without fans is nothing’.”
Premier League points to the £30 cap on away tickets and that 8 clubs froze season ticket prices for this season. PL meets fans to discuss the issue next month. @WeAreTheFSA #MUFC
