It was a bright day beneath an endless azure sky. The asylum stood isolated from the outside world, enclosed by towering brick walls. Here, freedom was little more than an abstract notion stripped of meaning. What fragments of sanity remained were slowly eroded and consumed, leaving behind people fashioned from deception itself, souls taught to mistake falsehoods for truth.
Soft sunlight filtered through the branches overhead, spilling across crimson curls the color of apple skin. A gentle breeze brushed against porcelain cheeks flushed with healthy color, adorning the girl with a beauty so delicate and alluring that it invited others to claim it as their own.
Had one not known the truth of her past, it would have been difficult to believe that this innocent looking girl was the infamous swindler who had fleeced countless young men.
"Doctor, look at this." The owner of the cheerful voice sat upon the grass. Small hands lifted a colorful wreath woven from wildflowers. A guileless smile spread across her face as she let out a soft giggle of pride.
"Hehe."
"...A flower crown." The shadow of the trees draped across a face as calm and unreadable as still water. Blue eyes lingered upon the object for a long moment, unable to discern her intention.
"That's right! A crown—a crown!" Yori tilted her head, anticipation gleaming within her eyes as she awaited his reaction.
"It's a lovely crown." Harper's reply was brief. A polite smile touched his lips for only a moment before his gaze dropped back to the document in his hands.
Warmth bloomed within Yori's chest and spread throughout her entire body.
Such a simple compliment carried astonishing weight. Then, she placed the flower crown upon her own head before lifting another and extending it toward the man in the white coat.
"This one is for you, Doctor." The hand that had been diligently writing across the clipboard came to a halt.
Harper looked up. His gaze settled not upon the flowers themselves, but upon the goodwill she offered through them.
"Why...?" The single word slipped from his lips before dissolving into thought. Golden hair stirred faintly in the breeze. Upon a face beautiful enough to resemble that of a celestial prince appeared a rare trace of confusion.
"Why is there one for me?"
"Because I'm a princess." Her voice rang clear and bright. Embarrassment colored her expression as she lowered her gaze before continuing.
"And that makes you my prince, Doctor."
There was no one else around to witness the moment. Only the wind, the trees, and the grass stood as silent witnesses.
It was as though someone had offered him a spoonful of honey. Yet his tongue could taste no sweetness.
Harper reached out and accepted the flower crown from her hands. A smile appeared upon his lips. His eyes, however, did not smile.
No ripple disturbed the depths of his gaze.
At last, he spoke.
"Good girl."
-----------------------------
The idea behind this art piece is to present Yori's fantasy of wanting to be a princess, and wanting to be Doctor Harper's princess. Likewise, she hopes that he will be her prince.
The flower crown is her pride, and it also represents Yori's gradually distorted way of sanity within the asylum. A beautiful wreath of flowers is understood as a real crown.
Lastly, while writing this scene, the intention was for the things descending from above onto Yori and Harper to be different. For Yori, it is sunlight filtering through and falling upon her face, whereas for Harper, it is the shadow of the trees cast over him. This symbolizes that although they share the same human appearance, in truth one person's heart remains still pure, while the other's has already been stained black.

Just sent commission's brief for Wren, Briar, and Harper. It should be completed by either this month or next month.
So exciting--- cuz this project is for my PC's relationship chart 😳

Golden curls soft as lamb’s wool, and clear sea-blue eyes brimming with innocent purity. His appearance was nothing short of angelic.
Whenever the young girl found herself before Doctor Harper, a quiet sense of inferiority would tighten in her chest, forcing her gaze to drift away from his face.
The more she felt those hands upon her, the more she listened to his gentle reassurances woven with warm, honeyed lies.
Animal and Beast would never do such a thing.
Tentacles do not exist.
Even knowing the marks carved across my body were far more convincing than those empty words, I… believed everything the doctor told me.
All for the sake of that tiny sliver of praise.
“Good girl.”

This is the scene where Doctor Harper comes to take care of Yori one day after Yori collapses from overworking at the club.
Doctor Harper doesn’t seem to like it when she’s dirty, so she always makes sure to clean herself up everytime before hugging him!

Crimson hair bloomed like a bunch of camellias in full flourish, framing skin so pale and delicate that the faintest touch would leave tender marks in the span of a fingertip.
Soft lips met in a lingering kiss, a teasing tongue entwining within the warmth of her mouth, while slender hands drew the taller figure down toward her with practiced ease.
A crooked smile tugged at the young man’s lips as he returned the kiss, leaning into the smaller body clad in an untidily patient’s gown. It clung damply to her from the sheen of sweat, revealing every curve beneath with no barrier left to hide them. When he gently caught her lower lip between his teeth, her demon wings fluttered in delight, her toes stretching taut in response.
Truly, the infamous courtesan of Harvest Street… this body must have lured countless souls before.
“Doctor… do you love me?” she asked, as she always did. Her voice slipping free the moment their lips parted. Her delicate arms remained looped around his neck, her soft cheeks puffed slightly as she waited for his answer.
Which answer… the doctor Harper in her eyes would gives?
He leaned his weight forward, closing the distance between them. The wind rushed in through the wide-open balcony window, uncaring of the danger that they might both fall.
And then, with a teasing whisper that filled her fragile heart with bliss.
“I do.”

Beneath the outstretched canopy, there I stood soaked to the bone.
Hair of purest gold, eyes of cerulean blue.
Once again, I found myself thinking how Doctor Harper resembled a celestial being.
“Why do you always end up like this?” he asked, a gentle smile gracing his lips as he tilted his head with quiet curiosity.
Yori lifted her gaze toward the shelter above, past its edge to a sky emptied of rainclouds. Though pain coursed through her body, she forced herself upright.
“Then why is it always you… who finds me?”
Deep down, she knew that umbrella was nothing more than a false kindness.
His shoes, untouched by the mire below. His pristine form, so starkly opposed to her own. And that wretched umbrella.
“Shall I help you?”
The girl looked up at the figure standing above her. That guileless face softened into a warm smile as he reached out a hand, just as she had finally managed to stand on her own.
Before she knew it, she grasped his hand, her expression trembling as though on the verge of tears once more.
And I… keep reaching out to him, again and again.
