Every day, Israel kills nearly a hundred Palestinians in Gaza. Every day in our repetitive daily lives, with their routines, is a day in which more than a hundred souls are denied the most sacred right: their right to live, to exist, to breathe, to be. The normalization of mass murder through bombardment, starvation, the denial of basic and essential needs such as medicine, health care, and water, and the push toward mass displacement and expulsion is not an event that will simply unfold in the background, waiting to be reversed or paused. This is a crime of such magnitude that it will bring about upheaval, destruction, and severe consequences that many are unable to fathom or comprehend.
Mexican navy colliding into the Brooklyn Bridge on a brightly lit up ornamental old-timey ship with a giant Mexican flag feels like an Arrested Development Season 4 scene
Monstrous that UK Government Ministers can still party in London, celebrating the British contribution to Israel's Gaza Genocide, even as starvation stalks 2 million civilians & Netanyahu publicly makes clear that he intends ethnic cleansing for the entire Palestinian population
There is a ceasefire deal, so I want to share this story from my past year reporting inside the State Dept. trying to answer the central question of Biden’s foreign policy:
How did the U.S. let Israel get away with widespread horrors in Gaza? 1/
Berlin's official city portal just wrote our film No Other Land has "antisemitic tendencies". A film that won the Berlinale and was recently invited to a special screening in the German embassy in Israel. It pains me to see how, after murdering most of my family in the holocaust, you empty the word antisemitism of meaning to silence critics of Israel's occupation in the West Bank (the topic of our film) and legitimize violence against Palestinians. I feel unsafe and unwelcome in Berlin of 2024 as a left-wing Israeli and will take legal action.
