Someone asked in my last post if I have the “he has me” preliminary sketch. Here it is. Second slide is the layout where I did the gesture figure drawing of the piece. I love doing these type of comparative anatomy shots that show the imposing differences of larger characters to smaller ones. It’s quite fun. So once I am happy with this initial sketch, I then pencil it loosely, then ink. So I don’t have scans of the pencils because when I ink myself, I do such loose pencils on certain spots, then ink, then pencil more, then ink, and so on. Then the stars I add in Photoshop digitally after I scan the original art in. Most of my original art with space scenes, have white backgrounds.
