This is how Cristiano Ronaldo left what may be his last press conference at a World Cup. After putting the critics in their place, he shared smiles, handshakes, and hugs with the reporters before walking out
🚨🚨
Cristiano, you’ve never been afraid throughout your career… Will tomorrow be any different, knowing it could be your last World Cup?
🇵🇹 CRISTIANO:
“It seems like you’re really eager for me not to come back… That day will come, yes.
I’ll be honest. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, Cristiano will leave here with a clear conscience—not 100%, but 1000%.
I’ve given everything to football and to my life: passion and determination. It was never about necessity. Thank God, I’m in a very good place in my life. It’s about passion.
I play for the national team and for my clubs because I love playing football.
Whatever happens tomorrow, I’ll be happy. I can’t put pressure on myself by thinking, ‘You have to win.’ It will be whatever God wills.
I’ll enjoy every day, every match, and this World Cup.
And I don’t think I’ve been that bad. I’ve scored three goals. Others have scored more because they’re in excellent form, but I don’t think I’ve been bad… At least that’s what I think.
Now let’s see if I’ll score tomorrow.”
🚨🚨
How do you see Argentina and Messi, one of the best in football history? And how are you experiencing the build-up to this match, which is so special for you after everything you have lived and given to football? What message do you want to give to the fans, many of whom are waiting outside to see Cristiano in what could be your last World Cup?
🇵🇹 CRISTIANO:
“Last World Cup… Thank you for the question. An interesting question. I like it.
What remains is the people. The people who love you, the people who, in a certain way, can give you a different moment in their lives.
I often share hotels and elevators with people who work there — housekeeping staff, Latinos — and for me, those are spectacular memories.
For example, sometimes with people from Argentina. Yesterday on the flight, one of the flight attendants was Argentinian. I knew it. I knew she was Argentinian by the way she looked at me.
I asked her, ‘Are you sure you’re from Argentina?’ And she said, ‘How do you know?’
I said, ‘By the way you looked at me.’ And she said, ‘How did I look at you?’
‘You looked at me and quickly moved your eyes away. That means you don’t like Cristiano.’
It’s fine like that, but I was joking.
My wife is Argentinian, so obviously I have a special affection for Argentinians as well. She is from Buenos Aires. So everything is fine, no problem.
Answering your question, it’s about enjoying as much as possible what could be my last World Cup — what will be my last World Cup — and enjoying it day by day.
Hopefully, tomorrow is not my last match. Hopefully.
So you can keep criticising me a little more…”
Cristiano Ronaldo saw the message of the Venezuelan boy who lost everything after the earthquake and he took action ❤️🩹🙏🏼
In addition to sending him words of encouragement, he invited Andrés to meet him: “I want you to attend one of my games!”.
Sending strenght and all best wishes to Andrés 💭
