‘I HAVE NEVER REFUSED TO APPEAR OR TESTIFY’

Col. Raymund Lachica, former chief security officer of Vice President Sara Duterte, clarified that he is willing to appear before the Senate impeachment court or testify at Duterte’s trial.

"I have never refused to appear or testify; if lawfully called, I am prepared to tell the truth, subject to applicable laws and security restrictions," he told the media on Tuesday.

Lachica has been repeatedly identified by former OVP special disbursing officer Gina Acosta in her testimony as the person who implemented Duterte’s confidential activities.

Meanwhile, both the prosecution and the defense said they are still assessing whether they will request to subpoena Lachica as a witness.
